Actually, go to my.yahoo and look at the five day chart. They started going south in afternoon trading yesterday and are now down over 5% today. The timing is very interesting.
Looks like they weren’t doing to good anyway. Maybe their decision to jump on the anti-Rush bandwagon was the last desperate attempt of a dying company to stir up some buzz. They figure we can’t do worse than we are, anything that shakes things up could only help.
Their stock price is going down faster than Sandra Fluke for a box of condoms.
Here’s an article from when their IPO came out:
http://blogs.reuters.com/small-business/2011/08/18/a-look-into-carbonites-ipo/
The money quote:
“Carbonite spends as much as $55 to land customers, who spend just $59 annually to backup their PCs documents, pictures, videos and other precious data. He justified the high acquisition cost by pointing to Carbonites own research that shows once converted, their customers stick with them on average for 5 years”
If people don’t stick with them, it will be a quick fall.
It is very perplexing that they stuck a finger in the eye of current customers, to satisfy allegedly prospective customers.
I predict that, a year from now, they will be either gone, or absorbed by another company.
I just switched from Allstate. I was a customer since 1981. My semiannual car insurance went from ~$1,250 to ~$450, and for slightly more coverage.
What data do you have to support "it doesn't "look like?"
The data I'm looking at shows a precipitous (10%) drop immediately after the controversy began. As it stands now, their stock is not only trading at its lowest point in 52 weeks, but at it's lowest point EVER.
Pretty convincing if you ask me.
Payback’s a ...ahh you know the rest.
Doesn't appear to have been helping their stock price.
Sleep Number with the fishes.
I’m adding to the drop today. I wanted to get Mozy up first. Is that one of the better ones to use?
Now down 5.46%
What’s Carbonite?
I was never tickled to have to listen to their crap on Rush anyway. AMF.
Allstate and Sears, QVC, JCP among others.
I guess their lib friends thru them all under the bus. HEEHEEHEE
Keep up the good work-heh!
Keep on cancelling, after all, you don’t want lefties in control of your backup.
Sears and JC Penney. Sears is already on a fiscal deathwatch and they just sealed their fate from my perspective.
