Although Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke testified to the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee last month that contraception can cost a law student $3,000 over three years and that some of her fellow students could not afford it, a Target store only 3 miles from the law school currently sells a month's supply of birth control pills for only $9 to people who do not have insurance plans covering contraceptives.
That would make the total cost for birth control pills for a student who decided to use them for all three years of law school just $324.
Fluke was the sole witness who appeared on Feb. 23 before an all-Democratic panel chaired by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).Without insurance coverage, contraception can cost a woman over $3,000 during law school," Fluke said. "For a lot of students who, like me, are on public interest scholarships, thats practically an entire summers salary. Forty percent of female students at Georgetown Law report struggling financially as a result of this policy.

One student told us of how embarrassed and powerless she felt when she was standing at the pharmacy counter, learning for the first time that contraception wasnt covered, and had to walk away because she couldnt afford it," said Fluke. "Women like her have no choice but to go without contraception."

I just google mapped Georgetown Law School and planned parenthood, it is 1.5 miles between them. 25 minutes if she has to take public transit.
First time I saw her I thought she was a lesbian. Then I heard what she was talking about and thought, Oh, I guess not.
Then I saw the nuances of what she was actually saying and said, Oh, looks like she is after all.

Lol. Don’t forget my personal favorite, hand-waving.
Just the latest phony baloney trumped up liberal sideshow to divert the country’s attention away from a failed administration.
I don’t care if it costs $9 a month or $250 a month (like some of my medication). If it’s not a drug she desperately needs in order to stay alive, please don’t ask me and other taxpayers to subsidize it.
For the sake of argument, let’s leave out the question of sex altogether. Where is the place in the US Constitution that says a citizen is entitled to have medication paid for by his or her fellow citizens? Charity might move us to supply drugs to someone who might die, but otherwise, pay for your own drugs!
This is the issue.
Why do lesbians spend $3000 on BC?
Pray for America
I been enjoying watching him lately. He's really taking the fight to Obama in an aggressive and effectively spoken way.
unless the right wing of the tyranny-o-saurus is simply hungry too ???
Too bad that Ms. Fluke’s mother didn’t believe or apparently didn’t use birth control or maybe Ms. Fluke is an “accident” as in “fluke.”
.
"...just $324"
Oh f'cryin'outloud! She just got the decimal in the wrong place.
"For a lot of students who, like me, are on public interest scholarships, thats practically an entire summers salary."
So what?
I went through 4 years of medical school with NO help from anybody--NO scholarship--NO nothing but my own steam and hard work--AND NO debt!
BTW--I paid for my own birth control!
"Women like her have no choice but to go without contraception."
Well noooooooooooooooooooooooo..................

Too bad someone doesn’t have the store security video tape where on the way out she see’s a pair of shoes on sale that she just has to have and nearly melts her credit card yanking it out from her purse that she just had to have.
So at $3000 she planned to stay in law school for 27 year 9 months and 10 days and a few hours.
Dems count on the distinction between conception prevention pills and pregnancy termination pills be blurred in the average voters minds. So if you are against birth control (visualized as conception prevention) and abortion both then it makes you (Republicans) look like women's sexual-moral police, which is a losing battle in a national election. This is where RS is vulnerable in this debate,
Visualize those old ladies in Iran that will beat up a woman on the street for showing their hair, that is what Dems are making Republican men look like with their (Dems) strategy. And compassionate Obama takes time out of his busy schedule from Iran-Isreal negotionations to comfort this 'poor' brave woman who oniy wants to speak out on woman's health issues free from attacks.
There is a woman who could aid Republicans in this debate but I see she is AWOL. Not a peep.
Maybe the problem isn’t birth control but transmittable diseases so she requires two or more types of contraceptives.
We have succumbed to the leftists clever ploy to shift the debate away from religious freedom in the face of tyrannical Obamacare. They have successfuly framed the debate instead as "Republicans Hate All Women and will End Contraception."
Until conservatives learn how to control the debate, we will continue to lose. Whittaker Chambers in his book "Witness" said this was true in the 1930s as well!
“There is a woman who could aid Republicans in this debate but I see she is AWOL. Not a peep.”
Great point. Palin could be a huge help here.
