So drop Rush? You are a raindrop in a ocean of radio. Buh bye...
When my dad was still alive, he was a courtesy driver for a Lexus dealership in in S.E. Michigan and he would do the same thing to the cars he was returning to owners after being serviced.
LET THE OUTRAGE BEGIN NOW!
The very next headline under Breaking News:
Elite National Media Dinner Set to Host Comic Who Smeared Palin in Vile Sexual Terms
It's not a double standard. The left HAS no standard. Limbaugh had a rationale behind what he said - the lady wanted to be paid to have sex. The left, on the other hand, never has nor ever will have a rationale. Their attacks on the right is NEVER substantive and ALWAYS innuendo and collateral. They call themselves the Intellectual Progressives, when in fact they are Irrational Degenerates.
"Political Correctness" IS Marxist tyranny.
You're right and it's a preview of coming attractions.
To those who miss Rush, there is WTIC AM, a 50,000 AM radio station which still has Rush’s show on.
Today though, there will be University of Connecticut men’s college basketball on at 12 Noon today, the start of the Big East Championship tournament.
We are living in a time of hypocracy.
Advertiser boycotts can work, though they usually fail because most people don't connect purchasing decisions to their personal values.
Once an advertiser boycott gains traction — and in very liberal areas like Massachusetts and Hawaii they may work against Limbaugh because the station managers and many in the potential listening audience are likely to disagree with Limbaugh — the best way to respond is for highly motivated supporters to counteract the boycott by responding with letters indicating that cutting Limbaugh also carries costs.
When people complained about articles in newspapers where I have worked, one of the questions I liked to ask — not the first question, but on the list — was whether the complainer was a subscriber or a regular reader. Often the person complaining wasn't even an occasional reader but got angry about something they read on the internet and complained without even being a paying customer! It's amazing how often that happens.
When actual paying customers (or in Leo WIndhorse’s case, people with an economic impact) complain about a boycott, it can have a significant effect.

Dear Chris [ Gen. Mgr - KPUA ]
I work for a major rent a car company here on the Big Island
For years I have been programming your station into each and every rental car I get in during the course of my work day .I have programmed literally 10s of 1000s of such rental cars
Effective immediately I will cease programming your station into any and all cars and I shall further re-visit the programming I have done and remove all pre-sets to your station .
Your discontinuance of Rush was a bad idea . It will have its own costs
Bye bye
Now we see who’s choosing sides.
Rally for Rush (Carbonite CEO tied to MoveOn.org: time for conservatives to fight blacklisting?)
...and if you think this is just some random compliants, it is Astroturfing by a tax-exempt 501c3.
Attack by Limbaugh Awakens a Stop Rush Campaign
This is flatout being organized by the organizers for the regime of 0bama. Media Matters for America is a Web-based, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media...Media Matters works daily to notify activists, journalists, pundits, and the general public about instances of misinformation, providing them with the resources to rebut false claims and to take direct action against offending media institutions.
Why is this organization tax-exempt? What elevates their efforts to tax-exempt status verses say GBTV? Because they claim to be a media watchdog group? Well what the heck does that mean? They blatantly state they are 'progressive' and watchdog group is nothing more than brownshirts for the regime.
Rush has been a target from before 0bama got in office. There is a lot it seems that Rush did in having certain companies as sponsors that was counter productive and even counter intuitive. Yesterday, he said he knew the leanings of these companies and he chose to do business with them anyway. He admitted it on air in the first hour and all this while attempting to placate his audience with the I didn't sponsor GM rhetoric.
The tactics of the progressive left here are predictable and clear. What Rush knowingly did in using the word slut and with his national sponsors is not. With sponsors clamoring to get access to Rush airtime...Rush made other choices. Choices that led his loyal listeners to spend their money with the likes of David Friend and MoveOn.org.
What Rush admitted yesterday amid the mists of "listener loyalty means everything," really should raise significant questions about his conservative integrity. He sounded to me yesterday like the abusive husband presenting the abused wife with a dozen red roses.
I am more and more conflicted about Rush. His opening monologue did not help at all. Quite frankly I could have cared less that he called a woman a slut. That is exactly what her faux testimony sounded like and every woman at Georgetown should have been offended by her testimony. Every Catholic woman at that school should have launched an immediate campaign that Fluke doesn't speak for them.
But this mess has revealed a very soft underbelly of Rush. One from a business logistic point that makes no sense to me.
Welll...Hawaii and Massachusetts.
Two most liberal states in the Union.
What more can be said?
It’s the same one. Here’s a link to a UK article about it which is the first google hit for the subdivision name in a news search.
Time for Rush to move to satellite radio. He could replace some of the deadwood that poses as “conservative” talk.
“I thought it was over 600 stations?”
I think you’re right. I realized after I posted it that I erred on the exact numbers. But like you say, regardless of the precise number, 2 stations (especially in Hawaii and Mass) are nothing to worry too much about.
I think it was accurate, if not right of him, to call her out for being so incredibly free with her body and not wanting to accept consequences for her actions.
Sadly what she wants flows from what the Resident said that he doesn’t want for his daughters, about being punished with a baby.
Uh, farming laws way back when...
http://mrctv.org/blog/sandra-fluke-gender-reassignment-and-health-insurance
— In a subsection of the article entitled “Employment Discrimination in Provision of Employment Benefits” starting on page 635 of the review Sandra Fluke and her co-editor describe two forms of discrimination in benefits they believe LGBTQ individuals face in the work place:
“Discrimination typically takes two forms: first, direct discrimination limiting access to benefits specifically needed by LGBTQ persons, and secondly, the unavailability of family-related benefits to LGBTQ families.”
Their “prime example” of the first form of discrimination? Not covering sex change operations:
“A prime example of direct discrimination is denying insurance coverage for medical needs of transgender persons physically transitioning to the other gender.”
This so called “prime example” of discrimination is expounded on in a subsection titled “Gender Reassignment Medical Services” starting on page 636:
“Transgender persons wishing to undergo the gender reassignment process frequently face heterosexist employer health insurance policies that label the surgery as cosmetic or medically unnecessary and therefore uncovered.”
To be clear, the argument here is that employers are engaging in discrimination against their employees who want them to pay for their sex changes because their “heterosexist” health insurance policies don’t believe sex changes are medically necessary.—
This seems to be the progressive dream all along. The fairness doctrine didn't work..Air America failed, They see an opportunity now through community organizing tactics.
I heart Radio apps are going to be huge for people driving in their cars. Can you get Rush on Sat Radio? Internet at the office will replace the local ads for people who are living in other areas. A good way for Rush to purify the listener base and purify the ankle biting advertisers who were contributing to Obamas reelection coffers with the profits of their companies success from advertising on Rush Limbaughs remarkable listener base. Time to start a Rush Room for lunch and have a serve Fluke burgers with a full ensemble of CONDOMENTS.
