It has been an almost embarrassingly lucky few weeks for Barack Obama politically, what with Mitt Romney detained at the altar and unemployment, for the time, abating. But that was just a prelude to the lavish political gift granted to the White House by Rush Limbaugh, the opponent they have always wanted.
The Limbaugh slut and prostitute rant against Georgetown Law student/contraception advocate Sandra Fluke which seems to be completely overshadowing boring old Super Tuesday matters. It matters to Rush (hes lost seven sponsors and counting), but it probably matters a lot more to Mitt Romney and anyone else running under the GOP flag in districts that contain, you know, women.
This doesnt seem to be a one-week story. Its just too sticky, culturally. And Democrats are doing everything in their power to keep it alive this week and beyond, as evidenced by David Axelrods suitable-for-framing quote on ABC yesterday: "I think what Rush Limbaugh said about that young woman was not only vile and degrading to her, but to women across the country."
Here are some reasons why Rush may have a real impact on 2012, apology or no.

Nancy Pelosis initiative to convince Sandra Fluke to testify to the principle of contraception as a health care necessity is simply wrong. Colleges and universities provide accidental injury/major medical and not traditional employee health insurance to students. Since students are generally young and not subject to the myriad diseases confronting older people or families with children, the coverage is limited. Not only contraceptives, but many medical procedures and drugs are not included. Since sexual intercourse is an optional, and not a required activity of law school students, contraceptives should not be among policy provisions.
Ms. Fluke testified that 40% of the women in law school considered sexual intercourse a compelling or preferred recreational activity. Therefore, the proper place to make her case is with the Georgetown University Student Association. The university encourages students to actively engage in more than 200 co-curricular clubs and activities. She testified to what would be more accurately described as a club sport or performing art, than as a health care necessity.
The analogy should not be considered facetious, but should awaken people to the limits of targeted, low cost insurance programs.
Indeeed, Rush needs to turn this back into the Constitutional implications hussein is mandating. Fluke is a media whore if nothing else. It is what it is and should be left there.
I sure wish people would get angry and fire all of the corrupt
politicians so we can get our power back. We need a reformer. This tactic has us (conservative movement) stuck in the mud and split.
Democrats just keep milking this contraception cow they have sired, with boffo results. We are playing the Alinsky handbook step by step - but from the WRONG SIDE. When will Republicans wise up?
Its a wonder Obama is as unpopular as he is with the unlimited supply of favorable press he gets.
Wow!!! Obama, his Democrat “dirt bags” and Obamabot “Politico” must really be drinking the spiked Kool-Aid!!! Do these morons really believe the Ms. Fluke is anything but a gutter female? Do they really think that she trumps unemployment, the oncoming Obama created Muslim crisis and a none recovering economy?
Either they are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, or.....they are in full panic mode and chaos over the upcoming defeat of Obama and his Democrat Party!!! Yep, Dems and Politico....bet on Ms. Fluke, and go down to defeat as the dirt bags you all are!!!
Yup, this is exactly what the White House wants. Anything they can do to focus on contraception, social issues, etc, is a win for them. The one thing the Obama campaign/Democrats don’t want to talk about is economic issues. Everyone knows this, and yet here we are (with the media’s help of course) yammering on about contraception, who is a “slut”, why the term is offensive, etc, etc.
The Democrats tangle the bait, and the Rush runs with it? OK, so the woman isn’t a 20 yr old student, but a 30ish female activist, and now they have Rush on the hook because he bit the bait. Rush has always been the biggest thorn in the Dem’s side, nothing would please them more than ruining his career and remove him from the scene. Remember, they’re more than pretty good at doing that.
“.....unlimited supply of favorable press he gets.”
Until you go to put gas in your car! I curse him every time.
I think that goes to show you just how bad he really is.
Lemme see now, if Obama is setting a gal up for unlimited business, then is Obama a _ _ _ _ ?
Let us not “Rush” to judgement!
“sticker” the gas pump with a short, pithy comment pointing at the person responsible for the price the next person is paying.
Good points.
The whole idea of universal coverage is to force those people with low risks into the same risk poll as those with high risks, to lower the cost for the former. This is redistribution cloaked with the term 'insurance'. But what if young men in college just refuse to buy coverage, and their parents refuse to add them to their family policies?
So both sexes in this age group are getting ripped off,and Dems are using this contraceptive distraction to rally those young suckers against their own interest. They will be forced to pay much more while being told they are getting freebies, which mean old Republicans oppose because that HATE women..

” So both sexes in this age group are getting ripped off,and Dems are using this contraceptive distraction to rally those young suckers against their own interest. And the Repubs in D.C.
1) Run for cover.....or
2) Deny it, making themselves look guilty......pathetic!
” We are playing the Alinsky handbook step by step - but from the WRONG SIDE. When will Republicans wise up? “
In D.C. ? Looks like NEVER.
This was such an obvious trap and there’s always a Republican who takes the bait.
