Ahead of the Super Tuesday primary contest in Georgia, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum released a first robo-call in the Peach State attacking rival former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
“Two-thirds of Governor Romney’s contributions come from people who give the maximum amount. Two-thirds of my donations come from people who give under $100. My campaign doesn’t have the money that the Romney campaign does. We have something else that Mitt Romney will never have. That’s the support of hard-working families, a conservative track record, and a vision to change this country.
“You see, while Governor Romney was writing personal checks, funding Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in America, I was writing the law ending partial-birth abortions. Governor Romney was creating his new big-government entitlement program called Romneycare, I was successfully ending an entitlement program called welfare, sending millions from welfare to work. And while Governor Romney supported the outrageous, taxpayer-funded Wall Street bail-out, I was disapproving bail-outs and fighting for a balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution. The choice on Tuesday couldn’t be more clear.”

"As abortion continues to define the Republican presidential primary, Mitt Romney’s campaign said Wednesday that Romney’s wife, Ann, made a $150 contribution to Planned Parenthood in 1994, the year Romney ran for Senate as a candidate supporting abortion rights.
Romney spokesman Kevin Madden said Ann Romney does not remember whether it was a straight donation to the abortion rights group, which supports abortion rights, or whether she wrote the check as an admission fee for an event.
“Since it was so long ago, Ann has no information of the circumstances,” he said.
Madden confirmed the payment in response to a question from the Globe."
Those robo-calls sound like more of a negative thing than positive.

I wonder how long the recipient stays on the line after Santorum plays the class and abortion cards.
The GOP Primary is being cemented in the voters’ minds thus, “”As abortion continues to define the Republican presidential primary,”....
And Obama’s voting for infanticide while in the Illinois legislature provides a fantastic vote getting contrast for Rick Santorum.
A big reason why he has almost three times the delegates as Newt and almost four times The Nut.
It's a two way race between Mitt and Rick.
Which was highlighted by Newt (along with Mitt's morning after pill lie); his pushback at Obama and Mitt received a lot of coverage and brought it into the light - placing it squarely on the Constitutional pillar of freedom of religion and reminded (or revealed) the fact that Obama pushed for infanticide (got them thinking about death panels too).
However, the economy needs some attention too in order for the nominee to win delegates for the nomination.
Newt Gingrich is the guy who brought up the infanticide issue, passed partial birth abortion bans twice (vetoed by Clinton) and has a 98-99% pro-life voting record. There’s no daylight between him and Rick on the pro-life issue. Yes they’ve both endorsed pro-choice Republicans at one point or another, but that’s politics.
Does anyone even listen to robo-calls?
Add to this that all three GOP candidates—oh, and The Nut too—have similar plans to correct the economy plus Rick has an outstanding record on national security.
So Rick or Mitt take your pick.

But when I think of santorum voting alongside and for union guys, I think of obama and his labor relations czar who was/is a union bigwig.(deserved or not)It feels like a vote for santorun could be another vote for the socialism obama keeps pushing.
Does anyone do anything other than hang up on these calls or delete them, unlistened-to, from the answering machine?
Just the first robocall? You’re lucky. I expect my answering machine to be filled with them by when I get home tonight. I almost changed my message to tell my friends to call my cell phone and set it so it doesn’t record anything.
You guys are reaching. Santorum was a Senator in a state that is pro-union. They wanted unions and you wanted Santorum to go against the people of Pennsylvania who wanted this? You guys don’t know a thing about Pennsylvania. Anyway unions are just now becoming a negative. When he voted for unions they were not the hated group of people they are now. Back then they were at least reasonable. Now they changed and became nonsensable and causes problems. Santorum was RIGHT TO VOTE FOR UNIONS at that time. Of course you haters will never recognize that. So carry on and bash away. Your candidate sucks so much racking up so many fourth place finishes that you must bash the main competition. We understand.
Sorry to contradict you. I grew up in Pittsburgh and watched as the unions destroyed the steel industry back in the 60’s. Santorum should have been man enough to speak against what has become a destructive force just as he seems man enough to speak up for the values he says he holds today.
No Robo-calls here in Alabama, but in the last 10 days we have recieved SEVEN Mitt Romney mailings and a Ron Paul door hanger. Nothing from Newt or Rick yet.
I understand what you are saying and I seriously respect that. But the point is that Pennsylvanians voted down “right to work”. They didn’t want that, at that time. I can’t imagine him going to Washington and voting for something against the wishes of the populous. Obviously not 100 percent of Pennsylvanians wanted this but somehow the majority did.
Today perhaps it would be different. Pennsylvanians knew about the steel industry of the 60’s and the coal industry too on the Eastern portion of the state.
Look regardless of everything, Santorum would be a better President than Obama and Romney. If we are not strategic we are going to end up with Romney. That is scary right there.
Newt should never have taken the entire month of February off. That was not a good tactical move. He basically has not participated in a primary since January 21st. That is a lifetime in politics. Had he participated in some of these states that he arrogantly called “beauty pageants”, he could be the one knocking Romney off, but he made his own choices.
I will vote for either Newt or Santorum when and if the time comes. That doesn’t mean I love either one of them, but ABR for me.

UNLIKE Rick and Mitt, Newt Gingrich didn't sit on his laurels complaining about the liberal political landscape of his state. Newt CHANGED the political landscape in GA (as he did in Washington), brought Democrats into the party, rallied people to get involved in politics -- all by pushing conservatism.

Oh please. Newt didn't even win the state only a small district that was overwhelmingly Republican. What are you talking about? Newt never had to run a campaign which is why to date he still has only won one state. Tomorrow will be 2 states out of 23 states. Almost 1/2 the states in America have said no to Newt.
