Fox in the Tank
Former Farmer

Posted on 03/04/2012 6:28:17 PM PST by Former Farmer

Mike Huckabee started his political forum on Jobs with a small businessman from St. Louis asking Newt Gingrich how he would help small businesses. Newt gave a straightforward answer. The burly man then repeated the question. He seemed a little belligerent, but I figured maybe that was just his temperment.

Then Mitt Romney came on. The opening question came from the same small business owner. This time, he told about how his son suffered a traumatic injury while serving in Iraq. (Huckabee at this point showed a photo of the man with his arm abound his son in uniform.) The man then complained to Romney that Obama had cut the benefits of this wounded warrior. By the time he got to the question, the man had his face all drawn and tears visible sliding down his cheeks. The question came out as something like, "You wouldn't do that, would you?" Romney comforted the man, calling him "Sarge."

The situation set up Romney to show that he had a heart. This addressed a major objection to Romney: he is seen as cold.

I used to like Fox News, but this cycle they are so far in the tank for Romney their reporters will soon have to wear snorkels.

Good point. And based one your screen name, I’m sure we would agree on how quickly many FReepers turned on Herman Cain too, just on the basis of unsubstantiated allegations.

No one should be surprised to lose elections when their expectations of a candidate are such that no one can meet them.

Bloody annoying! I remember how they got one of the Fox News Business Babes to trash Newt Gingrich earlier back.

I wasn't fooled, but I nearly was until I realized what Fox News Channel was trying to do.

Huck might not have been loathsome in the same manner as the grillings by screaming liberals that have been packaged as debates. But he disposed of classiness through gross favoritism. It’s almost to laugh, the blatancy of this stuff that was staged for Mitt. I mean Huck didn’t even clue in Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum about what this disgruntled man wanted. Delivered him right to Mitt. Romney does not need to produce any commercials if this keeps up.

Ultimately Cain quit because the brouhaha was wreaking havoc on his wife. Brouhaha that was being raised by Rats, and they couldn’t even have some common consideration for a fellow Democrat (the wife). Under the bus she went, for the sake of derailing Cain.

Newt MUST win more than just his lifelong homies in Georgia on TUESDAY.

He needs ANOTHER state WIN that day, or he should give it up already, throwing his weight and supporters to Rick.

I’m sure his fans will follow his wishes. Right? : )

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.....

It’s really lovely to hear from everybody how much they dislike Fox, but if you are going to watch cable news, what else is there? Don’t say Interweb or I will throw up.

If every Christian in America would simply turn off their televisions, and then keep them off, we would be one giant step towards saving the country.

You are absolutely correct. Unfortunately, TV seems to have some sort of addictive effect on people and they cannot give it up. What a shame.

"If Mr. Gingrich drops out, he will almost certainly throw his support behind Mr. Santorum."

I don't agree, as a Newt supporter my support would go to a third party or write in. santorum is left of Bush and I don't believe he is capable of doing anything but further damaging the conservative cause. If things have to get worse for Americans to wake-up, then so be it.

You feel a need to watch cable news? Unable to get information from the printed word? Gotta see pictures? OK.

I strongly doubt that our future Secretary of State, the great Newt Gingrich will join you in a third party folly.

BUT anything is possible these days I suppose.

No way.

Huck has only promised to endorse our nominee in Tampa — at the convention.

AND it will not be Willard IF we unite Newtorum in time.

Like say... Wednesday or so : )

“santorum is left of Bush”

So what? Who cares?

Rick is STILL way far to the right of Obamney.

The small business man is a frequent guest on Fox Business Network (FBN) He owns a bakery and his son was wounded. This man has been complaining about Ovomit for almost 3 years. This was a setup in Romneys favor because even Faux knows what a cold hearted SOB Mit-wit really is. It is sickening and FBN should be ashamed of themselves.

Newt is the only canddate who already has a plan for our Vets.

Neil Cavuto should be inandated with e-mails because of this BS.
What a disgrace!

I guess I will now have to send my imaginary knee-pads to Faux Busness as well as FAUX NEWS. They seem to go through titanium knee-pads every other day. A couple of them also need face transplants because of all the ass kissing.

This is costing me an imaginary fortune! What to do? What to do?

Just get it done.....

They could even flip a coin. Heads, Rick is at the top of the ticket. Tails, Newt is VP.

Romney reminds me of the old tyme snake oil man & I wouldn’t even vote for him for dog catcher. I held my nose & voted for Dole & McCain but the Republican Party still hasn’t a clue that we don’t want a “Democrat” but a Conservative that we can be proud of & will move our country back to our roots. Looks like I will moving over to “Independent”.

“I don’t care who our candidate is

You want a unity speech? I’ll give you a unity speech. I don’t care who our candidate is.

I haven’t since the beginning of this… ask not what the candidate can do for you, ask what you can do for the candidate!

And that’s what the Tea Party is.

We are there to confront [the radical left] on behalf of our candidate!

I will march behind who ever our candidate is. Because if we don’t, we lose.

There are two paths! There are two paths! One is America, the other is Occupy! One is America, the other is Occupy! And I don’t care, and along the way… I’ve realized over the last three years that the Republican Party and the conservative movement is not what ABC, CBS and NBC put on the screen.

They try to portray you in the worst possible light… and when I travel around the United States meeting people in the Tea Party who care — black, white, gay, straight — anyone that’s willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker, and if you’re not in that bunker ’cause you’re not satisfied with this candidate, more than shame on you. You’re on the other side.
