Wasserman Schultz Says Calling Women Sluts Isn't Funny - Two Months After Doing Maher's Show By Noel Sheppard Created 03/04/2012 - 7:14pm
Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (R-Fla.), in response to the Rush Limbaugh-Sandra Fluke controversy, told the host of Meet the Press Sunday, "I don't know any woman in America, David, that thinks that being called a slut is funny."
This hysterically comes less than two months after the Florida Congresswoman appeared on vulgarian Bill Maher's HBO program Real Time (video follows with transcript and commentary):
REPRESENTATIVE DEBBIE WASSERMAN SCHULTZ (D-FLORIDA): Then the other news in contraception this week was Rush Limbaugh criticizing a young law student who stood up and said, look, at Georgetown Law School, not only am I required to pay for my own health insurance because Georgetown Law requires all students to pay for health insurance, but contraception's not covered. And what did he do? He called her a slut. A slut. And now I'm sorry, I know he apologized, but forgive me if I doubt his sincerity given that he lost at least six advertisers. And the bottom line is that the leading candidate on the Republican side for president couldn't even bring himself to call Rush Limbaugh's comments outrageous and call him out and ask him to apologize.
DAVID GREGORY, HOST: You're talking about Mitt Romney.
REP. SCHULTZ: Yes. Mitt Romney. What, what woman in America--and Rush Limbaugh, in that apology, said that he was trying to be humorous. I don't know any woman in America, David, that thinks that being called a slut is funny.
But Maher thinks that's funny and so do his fans.
On March 18, 2011, to cheers and applause, the host of HBO's Real Time called former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin a "dumb twat."
Then, according to the Dallas Voice, while performing at the Winspear Opera House nine days later, Maher called Palin a "cunt."
If slut is so offensive to Wasserman Schultz, shouldn't "dumb twat" and "cunt" also be?
Apparently not for on January 13, 2012, the Congresswoman appeared on Maher's HBO show.
I guess disgusting misogynistic terms are only inappropriate when directed at a liberal woman and just fine when said of a conservative, which perfectly illustrates the absurdity of the Left's outrage concerning what Limbaugh said about Fluke.
If Wasserman Schultz were really offended by Limbaugh's comments she would have been equally outraged by Maher's regular misogyny - as well as that of his audience! - and therefore would never go on his show.
But because he's a liberal that typically speaks her language and advocates for politicians and causes she does, he gets a pass.
For more on this pathetic hypocrisy, please Sunday's Daily Beast article by liberal Fox News contributor Kirsten Powers Sunday.
As for Wasserman Schultz and all the other liberals both in and out of the media supposedly offended by what Limbaugh said last week, they need to avoid HBO's Real Time at all costs in the future or be similarly exposed as misogyny hypocrites.
Stay tuned.
Generally speaking, if somebody doesn’t want to be _called_ something, they shouldn’t engage in certain behavior! It’s not whether the person is “called” something, it’s whether they’re actually _doing_ that kind of thing!
Bttt !
My littlest brother, who had just had his 15th birthday, came to visit me at my apartment. I rarely have visitors. Well, one of my neighbors _called_ me something. I was upset that he called me that, but I knew that it wasn’t true; knowing that he had seen me with my brother walking from the mailbox to the apartment, and that it was my brother, and that I was / am not the kind of person that he was accusing me of being. I didn’t reply to him; I let him rant (he was just an angry kind of person), and went on about my business. Glad he no longer lives there.
Waz-a-man doesn't think it's funny? Hmmm, I'm not really sure. Lets see: Was-a-man, SLUT... Was-a-man, SLUT... ha, Waz-a-man, Slut... HarHARDeHARDYHAR!!!!
Seems pretty funny to me! Or, does it not count for Waz-a-man?
To build a true conservative majority in Congress, we need to target the leaders of the opposition and replace them with staunchly conservative representatives. And who better to go after than “the public face of the Democrat party” and Obama advisor, DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz? Debbie is the leading apologist for Obama’s failed economic programs and a proven liar who viciously attacks conservatives across the country. By removing her from office, we can silence a leading voice for big government, entitlement-dependency, and soaring debt. Defeating leaders on the Left and electing new leaders of our own is still the best way to build a Tea Party Congress.
Ready to step into Wasserman Schultz’s seat is a true Tea Party candidate named Karen Harrington. A successful businesswoman and community leader, Harrington is committed to restoring fiscal sanity in Washington, reforming the tax code, repealing Obamacare and freeing markets to create prosperity. A mother of three, Karen is the very model of the Tea Party candidate and is running for her first elected office.
That would be Stupid Sluts!
Deb Hypocrite
Is Debbie the one with the long ears or the curly hair?
Sometimes calling a slut a slut is just stating a fact. I’ll give her that.
Standard statement applies. If it weren’t for double standards, liberals would have no standards at all.
i can think of other nasty things liberals said about palin, especially kathy griffin and jennifer lopez and that was on a weekly basis too...but did that story get as much recognition as limbaugh’s? i think not...
Who said anyone was trying to be funny? Fluke's a slut.
hahaha. I knew there was a joke in that name somewhere. You found it. rofl
wasserman schultz is a Fascist pig.
Thank you for sharing.
I think.
