But Republicans have argued that the Volt was being pushed by the Obama administration for political reasons instead of consumer demand.
Is the commitment to the American public or is the commitment to clean energy, that we are going to get there any way we can? Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) asked in a hearing in the House in January about the Volt's reported battery fires.
When the market is ready
it wont have to be subsidized, Kelly said.

Market forces aren’t allowed to exist in Obama and the Democrats’ world.
This is why Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were driven off a cliff.

It's Dead. It's GM’s version of the Ford Edsel and nobody wants that dog.

Obama said he’d buy one when he was out of office. Maybe he should resign and buy a Volt. Then he can claim he helped increase sales and create thousands of new jobs.

"We needed to maintain proper inventory and make sure that we continued to meet market demand," GM spokesman Chris Lee said in a telephone interview.
That spin is a classic!

Went to the automotive news web site. 6,300 Volts in inventory and Jan sales were 603.
GM management strikes again.

And there you have it folks!...The Volt becomes an instant classic and flop all paid for by the U.S. taxpayer! FUBO!
To: Islander7
If GM had any brains they would rename the Volt. A better name: The Zero. It is such a fitting name - on so many levels.
To: truthguy; Islander7
Hey TruthGuy. I remember you calling me a whole bunch of names when I said there was no way the Volt would sell at the price they were selling it for. Well what say you now that they are closing down the production line?

I lost all respect for Motor Trend Magazine when it, pandering to the Zerobama administration, named Chevy Volt “Car of the Year for 2011”. What a joke.
BTW, Chevy is running lots of ads for the Volt, and I gag and change channels when these ads come on.

Let's see now ...
The key to maintaining proper ?? inventory AND to continue ?? to meet market demands is to lay off ... the whole friggin' plant ...
Is THAT about it ?
