From Ariz. debate:

The former Pennsylvania senator also struggled to explain his endorsement of GOP turncoat Arlen Specter, his concern about allowing women to assume combat duties, and his distinction between “good” and “bad” earmarks.

At one point, rival Ron Paul, the Texas congressman, complained, “This demonstrates the problem that I’m talking about: There’s always an excuse to do this.”

But it was Mitt Romney, especially interested in preventing Santorum from beating him in his native Michigan, who left the former senator stammering moments later when he accused him of alternately embracing federal family planning funding known as Title X.

Santorum offered his own version of Democrat John Kerry’s famous 2004 “I voted for it before I voted against it” declaration in response.

“I think I was making it clear that, while I have a personal more objection to it, even though I don’t support it, that I voted for bills that included it. And I made it very clear in subsequent interviews that I don’t support that, I’ve never supported it, and have, on an individual basis, have voted against it. That’s why I proposed Title XX to counterbalance it,” said Santorum.

The audience at the Mesa Performing Arts Center responded with boos.

*********************

Just two of the mistakes Santorum has made besides the fact his own state did not re-elect him. He was also an earmark fanatic. As for Title X. he voted for it before he voted against it. Is that the kind of president you want...AGAIN?

Go ahead and vote for him and when he loses we’ll be here waiting.
If Romney can make Santorum stutter ansd sweat, just imagine what obama will do to him!

Pictures of Newt do not make law, Santorum was and is a failed senator.

A man who converted to Catholicism after his failings, will have a lot to say to values voters and Hispanics.

Throw Dr. Gingrich into that briar patch, the media will learn quickly to avoid that question.

I don’t think Drudge is doing this for Romney- Romney wants Newt out- he just doubled his PAC advertisement against Newt in Georgia; that will only help Rick, since Romney isn’t even going to campaign in Ga—

My bet, Drudge, Coulter, Rush (others) have lost some degree of their “market” based on their conduct this primary season aligning themselves with the GOP-e. -

It’s one thing to payback a sitting Senator who has previously endorsed you. I wouldn’t have done it, but Palin endorsed McCain under similar circumstances. Everyone understands the influence of personal loyalty, but to pick an obscure radical liberal that had never done anything for anybody, and endorse her over a conservative candidate, that is impossible to explain. Of course, who knows what Nancy whispered in Newt’s ear on that couch, that got him to buy into Al Gore’s agenda. Maybe, she would only give him more “couch time” if he endorsed DeDe.

They will run those ads under the guise of exposing him as a flip flopper, but the real goal will be to demoralize the base.

Santorum does quite well among women, better than Newt of course. Santorum doesn’t oppose the use of birth control, only the government forcing a church to provide it against it’s deeply held religous beliefs. Of course, the Newtbots, and Romneytrons, are happy to side with Obama on the issue of forcing the Catholic Church to provide Abortion pills, if it means they can falsely portray Santorum as trying to ban the pill. How do you think Women will warm up to a man that trades his wife in for a younger model every few years.

"but to pick an obscure radical liberal that had never done anything for anybody, and endorse her over a conservative candidate, that is impossible to explain"

There's personal loyalty, and there's network loyalty. Any politician can get away without honoring the first, but none can forever dishonor the later.

Newt has an intellectual infrastructure...a mind share.

As much as he panders to the Social Conservatives, he is not one of them.

Still, if he does not win the nomination, I will write him in.

My sentiments exactly...and for that reason THANK YOU for providing this link!

I always get Freddie and Fannie mixed up. The Dems will run the ads, to show Newt as taking both positions (Newt the flip flopper) but the ads will actually be aimed at the base.

Newt, probably does have the serial adulterer vote sewed up. They have been looking for a candidate since 2000.

Newt should probably take down that link to “Ashley Madison”. It’s not helping.

I'm sure you would have leveled scathing remarks to a number of founding fathers of this nation who did not meet up with your sense of greatness.

Good grief. I like Sarah fine, but you’re not seriously going to say she could go up against Newt in a debate? Seriously?

Geeze. Take the blinders off.

I hope this is an honest move upwards for Newt. And I hope he’s able to take some of Romney’s voters from him.

But I’m afraid you’re right. Even though Romney flooded the market with trash, it did not stick to Santorum well enough to give him a comfortable winning margin. Neither Newt’s nor Santorum’s voters want to vote for Romney. But some will vote for each other’s candidate. So Romney figures the way to defeat the enemy is to split them down the middle. If Newt gets too high, Rombots know they can dump enough trash to keep him under control. So they boost Newt’s standing in order to peel off some of Santorum’s voters when he gets too high up in the polls.

I can just see his manipulative minions planning this. The way to defeat it is for Newt and Santorum to split up the delegate map and work together. But I don’t think that is going to happen. At least I’m sure Mitt is counting on it not happening.

Santorum sucks with women and Catholics once they see him, it was they who kicked him out of his Senate seat.

Gingrich can handle anything thrown at him, Santorum can’t, for one thing Santorum has never had to, Newt has lived his entire adult life doing that since he was the face of conservatism and it’s leader.

Being a born again Catholic will appeal to women, Catholics, and Hispanics in a national race against Obama, Santorum eventually turns off even those of us who are social conservatives.

Santorum only got 42% of the white Catholic vote, and 39% of the female vote when they ran him out of the Senate.

Don’t get childish on us. Gingrich was the second half of the Reagan revolution, if he ever criticized Reagan it was for not being conservative enough.

Santorum is a true liberal endorser.

“In a few short days, Republicans from across this country will decide more than their party’s nominee. They will decide the very future of our party and the conservative coalition that Ronald Reagan built.

Conservatives can no longer afford to stand on the sidelines in this election, and Governor Romney is the candidate who will stand up for the conservative principles that we hold dear,” said Senator Santorum.
“Governor Romney has a deep understanding of the important issues confronting our country today, and he is the clear conservative candidate that can go into the general election with a united Republican party.”
