Are there actually people out there who care what John McCain and Lindsey Graham have to say?

Newt may be staying off the shows today to help Rick. Every Newt voter in MI needs to vote for Rick to defeat Milt Toast.
A loss in his home state would be fatal.

Pray for America

Santorum is not letting Gregory rattle him.

Santorum catches Gregory on saying that S voted for a steel bailout, says he was voting for tariffs due to Chinese dumping steel. [Santorum should have used that response against Romney at the debate.]

Good morning AB, All….

Very windy here in the swamps, where the weather doesn’t know if it should be winter or maybe spring.

As always, thank you AB for doing this thread. This thread becomes increasingly important with the upcoming monumental elections.

I understand Obamer has promised to continue “improving” this country in the next five years, which would include 2012 and the four years AFTER he gets re-elected.

I lie awake shivering at the notion.

But hey, here’s the deal. We purport to live in a country where the citizens’ will be carried out. America elected Obamer oncit, maybe that was a mistake. But if we elect him again then we, by “we” I mean us Freepers and the like, can do nothing but accept that the majority shall rule and the majority has chosen the Obamer route.

As much as deep in my soul I don’t believe America WANTS to go the way of Obamer, what matters and is tangible is how the citizenry votes. If the citizenry put him back into power then there’s not much more that can be done.

We don’t even have an opposition party now, not even with the 2010 massacre and message to bolster. After Obamer wins the Republican party shall essentially be no more.

Santorum on ABC with George S. George puts up polls showing Santorum vs. Romney race tightening to a dead heat.

George plays the No Child Left Behind comments - politics is a team sport, then points out Romney’s comments - “Santorum is playing for the wrong team.” Santorum points out that ROmney still supports the NCLB program, along with govt run healthcare, etc.

George asks Santorum about not supporting bailing out the auto industry. Santorum defends free markets.......gives example of steel industry in PA not receiving bailouts, the steel industry is still there, but it is different. (He did a pretty good job explaining this position, IMO)

Accuses Romney of an Occupy WallStreet mentality with his tax plans -

On Afghanistan and four Americans that were killed. Serious problems with Karzai govt. THis is unacceptable...this was just a mistake - no apology should have ever have been given. George asks why not if it was a mistake? Santorum responds it shows weakness, lends credibility that it was something more than a mistake.

On education, George plays clip where Santorum says obama is a snob for thinking every American should go to college. Santorum says it devalues those who chose not to go. santorum said to Glen Beck that he understands why obama wants every kid to go to college for a year because they are indoctrination think tanks. George is so concerned saying santorum makes it sound like there is something wrong with going to college.

George plays clip of Santorum about Kennedy’s speech - made him want to throw up. Santorum responds it is the first line of the speech in which Kennedy said he believed in the ABSOLUTE seperation of church and state. IOW, for the first time, a presidents had stated that faith had no business in govt/the public square.

(Uh-oh, George is getting Santorum off in the faith arguments. He was doing pretty well, but he has engaged Rick at this point, and Santorum is going off topic.) - my opinion, only.

Rick has a car in the Daytona 500? Did not know that. lol, it’s a Ford!

I am no Santorum fan, but he should be diverting the conversation to Obama, not letting Gregory goad him into defending his social stands for extended periods of time.

Well, I’d say that the “vast throng” of CNN viewers seem to like ‘em.

CNN’s ratings seem to climb almost above the rim of the bowl every other month or so when they’ve got such a stellar lineup around.

(Don’t know if I should use a ROFLMAO or /sarc here, so I’ll leave ‘em both.)

So Fish, a number of people have been asking me to run for Congress. They have seen our grassroots campaign program and believe it and my speaking ability could win here in deep blue Oregon. I am really considering doing it. What do you think, me in the District of Corruption?

Pray for America

MTP

Gregory brings up faith, that it should be kept ‘private’ based on what JFK said.

Santorum responds that it should be in the public forum. Turns it on Obama trying to impose ‘state’ faith in private matters.

[Gregory was probably cringing at that response.]

Santorum takes Gregory to task for Gregory implying that Santorum wants to impose his faith on the public.

Gregory ends with remark about Santorum sponsoring a car at the Daytona 500 rather than watching George Clooney at the Oscars.

Gregory remarks that Romney is still refusing to sit down with him on MTP. [Chris Wallace has chided Romney on FNS previously. It apparently worked, as Romney showed up on FNS this morning. Maybe Gregory is feeling some jealousy.]

Wow.

The French-speaking David Gregory says to Gov. Brewer that he has ties to Arizona.

Governor Brewer endorses former Governor Romney.

[No real surprise. Her check must have cleared. (/s)]

FOX 'News' COVERS UP ROMNEY's FALSEHOODS

Romney-PIMP Extraordinaire Chris Wallace
led his beloved backstabbing poser through
a series of lies, and never once (zero, zed)
called him on it.

Romney purported to have defended
conventional marriage in Massachusetts.
Utter lie, so it was ignored
by FOX "New"'s Wallace.

Romney purported to have been behind,
through the entire campaign now had momentum
(ignoring that he is collapsing, now).
Utter lie, so it was ignored by FOX "New"'s Wallace
who had been proclaiming Romney "the leader" endlessly.

Romney purported to have be a 'conservative'.
Utter lie, so RomneyCARE, the BIGDIG coverup,
Romney JUDGES, and Romney LIBERALISM
were all ignored by FOX "New"'s Wallace
who gazed his favorite star as he duly read from
his provided script.

Rumor is that FOX "News" and Wallace
and the Romney-PANEL, will simply script the
rest of the day for the phoney Romney,
the "self-declared (alleged) conservative".

Not sure where to post this but here goes.

No matter which candidate Freepers are supporting, this 30 minute commentary by Newt is right on as to our drilling and moving to energy independence.  How and why.  I would hope every Republican candidate takes this to heart and expresses the same view.

So okay, first, a member of congress? Would this be a federal position...a Representative?

Or would it be a state position?

Now as for running for an office, I am starting that endeavor, not for me but the guy who I somehow ended up being Treasurer for his campaign.

First thing, IT WILL COST YOU MONEY!

The Republican party does not step up and help candidates though I’m sure you know this. BUT with proper fundraising you can get ‘er done.

I’d think long and hard, however, about running for a federal office first thing. You’d be way better off to begin a blooming political career at the local level. Easier to raise funds, grow a network, that sort of thing.

Also, all those people encouraging you to run for an office, GET THEIR NAMES AND NUMBERS! For THEY are the ones you need to get that ball rolling.

My guy’s having a helluva time, and hence my own self, getting himself started in that he’s jumping right in. And he’s only running for Sussex county council. He’s got a few supporters and his opposition happens to be the only Democrat on the Sussex county council. an awful woman who once presented a motion to rename the Easter holiday the “spring recess”. That went over like one big dud in conservative Sussex county.

And go with me, I got a keyboard and am read across the blog sites of Delaware and, at times, I can be quite a wit with the words. I’ll take ‘em all down.

By all means go for it. I know how to set up an organization now, I know campaign finance reporting rules...what a real pain in the butt. I suspect I shall learn as the ship moves on.

Build on your admirers, that’s my first suggestion. And always....always...always....be true to who you are.

We already got Romney running as anybody’s candidate and he’s not doing all that well. Believe and stay yourself and see where it takes you.

Round Table on ABC, Battleground Michigan -

John Engler, former MI Gov - Romney’s strength - he’s able to go the long haul. Dems’ can vote in the polls, their votes would go to Santorum.

Granholm former MI gov. - MI, not a winner take-all, Santorum will pick up a significant amount of delegates

Panelists all agree that the candidates have moved so far right, they will have a problem getting the swing votes in the general.

George Will - TP viewpoint - This is an election about limited govt, and Mitt Romney is on the other side.

Cokie - women’s vote is an economic vote along with every other voter.

George Will points out how bad the economy is with real numbers....George Step. interrupts and asks George Will, “Isn’t it the trend that matters?....politically?”
