Obama Has Already Lost, and He Doesn't Even Know It
American Thinker ^ | February 24, 2012 | David Coughlin

Barack Obama is a lame-duck president already, but he probably doesn't realize it since he is surrounded by leftist zealots who insulate him from any contrary opinions and shielded by the partisan mainstream media. Obama's popularity began falling right after his election, and the percentage disapproving has exceeded those approving steadily since 2009. Each and every voting bloc that supported him in 2008 has eroded by at least 10 points -- even the African-American voters, with independents and young voters dropping by over 30 points. Approval on major issues (economy, budget, deficit, employment, etc.) has also eroded, with disapproval exceeding approval ratings across the board.

Despite approval ratings lower than any president's in recent history, the media push-polls are trying to sell us the idea that Obama is well liked and has a good chance to be re-elected, meanwhile ignoring any and all facts that do not support their partisan message. The good news is that there has been a mass awakening of the American people, who now realize that the mainstream media has a decided leftist tilt and that media polls can no longer be trusted.

Meanwhile, Democrats want us to believe that Obama has been a tremendous success. He promised to redistribute our wealth, and he has begun. He promised to transform our health care system, and he passed ObamaCare. He promised that his energy policies would dramatically increase energy costs, and they have. He promised to appoint justices who think like he does to the Supreme Court, and he has. He promised to pull American troops out of Iraq, regardless of the situation on the ground, and he has. He made many promises that he is trying...

--snip--

Now that American voters have finally woken up, their opinion is that they don't like the country's new direction...

Will Voters Bite?

By Cindy Simpson

If the wisdom contained in the old adage "a dog won't bite the hand that feeds it" is true, does it also follow that a voter, dependent on the government, will not vote against an incumbent big-government president?

The Heritage Foundation's recently released "2012 Index of Dependence on Government" reveals that one in five Americans receives some type of government assistance, a record-breaking 67.3 million people. And none of the figures include those who indirectly benefit from government programs (such as tax breaks, contracts, grants, guarantees, subsidies, favored industry incentives, etc.).

In addition, 49.5% of the population (151.7 million) paid no income tax in 2009, and according to Heritage, "most of that same population receives generous federal benefits."

According to 2010 census reports, the federal government employed over 3 million people, and state and local governments employed an additional 20 million.

Also consider the 14.8 million union members who typically vote Democrat.

I didn’t know Obama had lost either, neverdem. Is there something about the uninformed American people that you know that I don’t?

And if Ron Paul is not our nominee (and he won’t be) who will they vote for? Obama.

Agree, 50-50 at best, against no candidate at all. When we finally come up with a candidate, it could get worse. Friend of mine is betting on Jeb to ride in on a white horse and break a deadlocked convention.

Yes, that one, Bush.

The media meme: Skirts are shorter this season meaning the economy is better. Clothes are in bright happy colors meaning the economy is better. Stock Market up meaning economy is better. Ignore gas prices, pocket books, debt, unemployment and all the rest. The media puppeteers are busy constructing the set design and theme for election 2012. Happy happy joy joy. Obama plans to croon his way to reelection. He’ll probably appear on American Idol and Dancing with the Stars.

Except Letterman Leno Conan and the rest won’t tell a single joke about it. or if they do they will blame it on the Republicans or Bush or Chaney. The media will tell us how wonderful it is that we are paying $5 a gallon and how Obama kept it from going to $10 a gallon so we should be grateful to him. That’s how they play this game. And the majority of Americans are stupid - that’s a fact. The sheep will look in their wallet and watch their money disappear at the gas pumps ... and then listen to the TV men and become confused about who to blame.

Reagan had a gift - to talk to the people. No one on the stage right now has that gift.

Intrade has him at 60%.

The American Thinker is misnamed. A lot of their articles seem to involve less thinking rather than more.

Here's an idea for a campaign commercial against Obama. Just use clips of him saying some of his more ridiculous things and back it up with a huge laugh track. Every time he utters more of his nonsense just put a huge round of laughter, over and over. Then at the end freeze frame on his $hit eating grin and ask “Can America afford 4 more years of a comedian in our White House? It's time for real leadership”.

I like your idea but I'd end it a little differently. Use his silly stuff with background laughter, but then slowly fade the laugh track and show a family struggling. Then the announcer says something like, "9% unemployment, $5 a gallon gasoline (etc.) is nothing to laugh at."

There is a right way to do this without sounding campy and without beating up on our Dear Leader. Simply state the facts and let the chips fall where they may. The millions of unemployed, under-employed and struggling families will get the message.

I would love to see Obama sent packing in November, and I do think he can be defeated. But nothing’s written in stone yet, and nine months is a long, long time in politics.

I think it likely we’ll be looking at a close race similar to 2004. I don’t see any GOP candidate taking California or New York away from Obama, just as I don’t see Obama repeating his success in Indiana or North Carolina (not sure about Virginia yet). I really think it will come down to Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania. Whoever takes 2 of 3 will probably be President in 2013.

All IMHO, of course. Which is probably worth everything you’re paying for it. :-)

This article seems predicated on the assumption that the GOP is going field a viable candidate.

Doesn't matter. We could nominate Elmer Fudd and still beat Obama. Our argument should not be if we can beat Obama but who do we want to win with and why.

We are in dire need of a president that can move the senate and house and the American people into radical reform mode to get control of runaway government. It is for that reason I support Newt Gingrich. It is why I really wanted Sarah Palin to run.

IMO, neither Romney nor Santorum have any desire to take on the "powers that be" in DC. I DO NOT support them at all.

Obama is toast. Running this poorly in the polls at this point and time is hilarious. As an incumbant he should be in the mid 60s to low 70s just to be competitive, as most undecides break for the challenger by 2-1 and the opponent hasn’t even been nominated yet. This is a good year to be a Republican with four exceptionally capable individuals, any of which will cruise to victory in November. If the Democrats were smart, and they aren’t, they would announce Obama’s “retirement” and try to run someone else. Otherwise they are screwed.

Well, I would say that all your negative scenarios will only play out with a TRULY recovering economy.

If gas really does go to $5- (possible, but I really hope not, I’m in NJ and our gas is always cheaper) and Odumbo is still saying “let’s make fuel out of pond scum” and unemployment is still high (likely) and housing is still in the crapper and the cost of food continues to creep higher (think how THAT would be being covered if the guy in the WH was a republican!)....

What I’m thinking is most people are going to say “the heck with it, he had his chance” and they are also going to figure that the Gingrich divorces, the Romney ennui, and even the Santorum religiosity aren’t enough to keep them from giving the “other guy” a chance.

I think Abe Lincoln said it best: you can’t fool ALL of the people ALL of the time.

A billion dollar campaign fund for Obama, plus the fervent support of the mainstream media, will do wonders.

The Sloppy Incumbent - The once-invincible Obama campaign team has become mistake-prone

Check that link about his fund raising prowess this go round, especially comment# 11. Why do you think Obama has said that superPAC donations on his behalf are now acceptble? The mainstream media gets less and less attention. Watch Fast and Furious become a campaign issue. The head of the RNC said it will be.

“Many of the dimocrats are too dense to realize the err of their ways.”

A lot of Dems are worse off than 4 years ago; he only has the support of the far left fringe, which just happens to dominate the media. A lot of black Dems I know are struggling, and they’ve taken down any pictures of slogans of his a long time ago. They may have been proud to see him win, but they know they are worse off.

“We could nominate Elmer Fudd and still beat Obama.”

I’ve seen the Stupid Party lose to JFK, LBJ, Bozo Carter, Slick Willy Clinton (twice), and the Bamturd once. I try never to underestimate their ability to put together a deadly-accurate circular firing squad.

I mean, if they were smart, people wouldn’t have been calling them “the Stupid Party” for decades.

I live in Atlanta and I still see probably 10 to 1 old Hope stickers versus the new 2012 ones.

He’s a joker, but the fact remains most blacks vote based on race. I don’t even have to look inside a 2012 car to know it’s driven by an “African-American for Obama”...
