Politico today cites several sources that Jeb Bush said this during a post-speech question and answer session the other night in Dallas:
I used to be a conservative, and I watch these debates and Im wondering, I dont think Ive changed, but its a little troubling sometimes when people are appealing to peoples fears and emotion rather than trying to get them to look over the horizon for a broader perspective, and thats kind of where we are.

I wonder why guys like Jeb never seem to think that Obama or the Democrats are every appealing to ‘fears and emotion.’ Nope, we never hear that criticism.
Jeb is coming off his hillbilly porch.
Sounds like he’d make the perfect candidate for the RINO establishment. Romney better liberal-it-up some more to get back their favor. Seriously though, if Bush did say that I hope he drops dead. If not, keep up the good work Bush.
My guess is that he is looking presidential for a brokered convention with the outcome to be decided by the elite gop.
He may be right about his b!tch but it’s for the wrong reasons.
A Bush is a Bush is a Bush.
These Bushes think they know better than we do, that they are born to do us the favor of ruling over us.
In this they are indistinguishable from the leftists.
People are right to fear the destruction of the family, they are right to fear multi-trillion dollar debts, they are right to fear an over-reaching government. It is those who do not fear such things who are foolish.
i have been expecting Jeb to appear since the very bewginning of rhis race. The establishment will have its way, no matter what. and the establishment is not for a Consstiutional America! neither are the Bushs!
Family of Secrets, by Russ Baker.
Jeb Bush = Bigfoot = Convention = Third Party Revolt.
NEWT, 2012 = Conservative Movement, or Bust.
Game sorta On.
No, he’s still on the ‘progressive’, ‘new world order’ reservation...
Another sniveling critic. Why is it that only Newt offers optimism and a return to conservative principles as a solution.
Santorum, Romney and now Bush offer nothing substantial - just insulting the American people for being angry and fed up.
Stating facts is not pandering and enumerating the problems is not fear-mongering. We are mature, thinking, freedom lovers. We don’t want our elected officials to take care of us - we want them to uphold the Constitution and stop being tyrants.
No more Bushes! We’ve had enough to last for eternity.
Why that’s the “New World Order” having a committee meeting.
Not by a long shot, Jeb is not off the reservation. He’s smack dab in the middle of the reservation. It’s the conservatives like the Tea Party that have gone off the reservation.
That’s a GREAT book, and a real eye-opener.
Neither Jeb, George nor George Senior are conservatives.
Never were, never will be.
That comassionate conservative B.S. was just that, a capitulation for all that is liberal.
Strange statement, kind of implies he doesn't like the notion of real conservatism, but only the old Rino pretend conservatism of the past.
