The filmmakers Q & A following the screening was also very telling. Their primary motivation for making this apolitical movie about the life of Navy Seals was primarily to pay honor and tribute to the sacrifice these extraordinary individuals make in order for all the rest of us to walk around free.
The liberals in attendance gave the film the same standing ovation I did, because they were drawn into an intense story line that did not choose partisan sides.
Thats not to say that liberals who havent seen the film arent making a partisan issue of it.

I’m checking it out tonight...looks great from the trailer.
The only reason they made this movie is because it’s an election year and Obama is on the ticket.
Consider: this movie was made in Hollywood - a place that hates the military. JarHead, Redacted, etc, etc, etc.
I’m not going to go along with the blatant politicization of US fighting personnel in such a fashion - especially when Obama wants to slash the military budget!
I’m not going to be sucked in. I find this offensive.
Dan Patrick praised it at length this morning.
I think the movie won’t disappoint. I wish your son good luck. He has plenty of time for prepping. Here is a link for a fitness book your son might like:

The argument could just be as easily made that this is an anti-Obama film....
Per the producers who are essentially no-name, the film is a tribute to the armed forces, the men who serve and their families who support them.
This is the only reason active duty Seals participated in their off-time to help make the movie.....No one ordered them...in fact they first refused citing your base argument....
I’ll agree, that almost everything that comes out of Hollywood has a either an obvious or obscured liberal political slant, but not all.
Mel Gibson’s “The Patriot” or “The Passion of Christ” are two blockbusters hat quickly come to mind. The Hollywood elite had a meltdown and howled over these films, withholding many awards innapropriately....
If this movie proves to be the real deal, a true non-political tribute to these warriors, then going to see it is a finger in the Hollywood’s elite collective eye....
I'm disgusted with Mr. Moviefone - he's sold out to the Hollywood liberals, I thought he was above that.
My husband and I will go out of our way to see "Act of Valor" ASAP.
On the one hand, I am very interested in seeing this film when released in the UK, probably a DVD release as opposed to cinema. And its great to see the SEALS get a film.
On the other, it does look like a ‘straight to dvd’ film thats getting a lot of hype. I hope no one is expecting to see a film of the timeless quality of a Sgt York or a Pork Chop Hill.
They started making the movie five years ago. Do you think the actual active duty Navy SEALs who star in the movie find it “offensive”?
Perhaps you want to do some research on the project before jumping to conclusions.
The filmmakers initially were brought in to make a SEAL recruitment film. This project has been ongoing for 2 years because the SEAL actors have been on and off deployment.
A pro military film in no way helps Obama. His base hates the military and hates heroes that believe in God and Country.
Listened to Michael Savage a few nights ago - he went into the “conspiracy” theory on the deaths of the 22 SEALs in Afghanistan. An Army copter pilot called in and said he and his fellow pilots are convinced it was a set-up, done deliberately and as compensation for offing Osama...
just throwing this out for discussion...

Thank you, I will pass it along to him. He is a noble modest kid with a great deal of drive and athletic ability. He found Culver Military Academy when he was 12 and asked to go.
Slash the military budget? Fox just had a analyst on who said that Obama is telling close friends he intends to destroy the US’ entire nuclear weapons stockpile before he leaves office so he can be the “nuclear free” president.
The filmmakers had been involved with the Seals on a project before Obama was elected.
My son is also prepping for the Seals, he’s 20 years old a lettering collegiate athelete in two sports and Dean’s list for the past 5 semesters majoring in Electrical Engineering.
He is currently working with a Seal Team recruiter (active duty Seal)for when he earns his degree.
Have your son work equally as hard on multiple languages, this is a great help.
The physical portion is tough but the mental portion is the greatest.
Good luck to your son!
Wow this site and its members are a blessing. Thank you we will be looking into this for him. He has spent the last 2 years at Culver Military camps in Indiana. He is looking for something this summer.

You’re welcome. He sounds like a motivated kid. I think he’ll do just fine, whatever path he chooses. Take care.
