Our political system is a farce. The two parties are not two parties. The elections means nothing and the government does not meaningfully change no matter who wins. Look at Romney and Obama -- how different are they? And then realize that it's not just Obama and it's not just Romney. It's McCain and Kennedy. It's Pelosi and Newt sitting on a couch talking about Global Warming.

It's all about power and we are the dupes who don't see the chains we bear.

Anbody remember the “Anti-Impoundment” legislation passed when Nixon was Pres? The Exec Branch is supposed to manage the money appropriated by Congress. The Nixon admin, for what ever reason, said we don’t need to spend $ for whatever. Congress came back and passed legislation which in effect said: You can’t spend anything unless we give you the funds and if we give you the funds you got to spend it unless we give you permission not to. The present admin seems to think that none of the above is relevent.

Obama had a big stroke of luck when Boeher became Speaker. Despite the large incoming Tea Party class, it was clear sailing for Obama from the get go. Boehner is just another Republican looking to dress up capitulation by calling it “compromise”.
