Gun sales increase in 2012

			In the gun business, fear drives sales, and recently, sales have increased. About 300 people have already applied for a Georgia Weapon Carry license in 2012, according to Richmond County Probate Court records. Last year, approximately 1,600 permits were submitted. At the current rate, applications could nearly double 2011’s numbers by the end of this year. Kayna Widener was driven to purchase a gun after she saw a man attack a woman outside the Augusta Mall several months ago. She was the only witness to the attack. In this case, the man fled after the victim put up a struggle. But Widener knows everyone isn’t as lucky. On Friday, she practiced shooting a “Bad Guy” paper target with her Glock 26 at Shooters gun range. Her boyfriend, Sean Morgan, stood nearby. “It definitely makes me feel better,” Morgan said of Widener’s ability to defend herself. Steven Fryant, Shooters’ store manager, said business has increased by 15 percent or more in the past two months.

We’re in this pickle and it’s hard to see our way out.

Communists and other authoritarians always see things through a long lens.

They are like a boa constrictor around our Liberty, each and every serious crisis is an opportunity for it to squeeze a little more and then relax, waiting for the next time.

It never voluntarily reverses its stranglehold on freedom, only pausing in between power grabs.

In the case of the second amendment, it used the serious crisis of the late 1960’s to grasp our right to self defense and it’s been trying to choke it off ever since.

The Liberty constricting snake known as the pro-oppression left can see their confiscation goal off in the distance, but they need to squeeze the life out of the concept of private property and the right of self defense first.

Your ability to buy or sell a gun without their say-so is an important stop point in their long-range goal of crushing the life out of the second amendment.

All I’m saying is that we shouldn’t facilitate this goal.

If you have a valid state-issued CCW permit do you still need to fill out the 4473? and they must keep those permanently..pretty creepy! Just establish that you are a law-abiding citizen, then destroy the record, I say. Such info will be useful when this country falls into full-blown Soviet style communism!

IF the purpose of the 4473’s and NICS checks is to screen the purchaser – Why do they need that information on the Gun being purchased?

A friends father-in-law went to the gun show in Upper Marlboro MD over the weekend, he said herre was a long lie to get in and once inside it was just a long line moving thru the show. When he left there was still a very long line to get in.
