Former Va. Rep. Virgil Goode announces presidential bid (Third Party)
The Daily Caller ^ | 2-16-12 | Steven Nelson

Virgil Goode Jr. may have served six terms as a Republican congressman from Virginia, but he now feels he can best effect change as the Constitution Party’s candidate for president.

In a brief interview with The Daily Caller, Goode said his platform consists of four planks: limited government, border security, rapidly adopting a balanced budget and enacting term limits.

“If I’m fortunate enough to get the nomination of the Constitution Party, I will take as many votes from Obama as I would from the Republican nominee,” he said.

I guess the Constitution Party has found their man.

Doing his hopefully very very small part to help reelect Hussein.

If he really believes his claim he’d take “as many votes from Obama” then he’s an idiot. Gary Johnson will get a few Paulbot and left-libertarian votes that otherwise would go to Obama but the Constitution party, I don’t think so.

Goode was one of only four House Democrats to vote to impeach Clinton on all counts.

If romney ends up being the nominee, I am going to take a good hard look at the constitution party. Thanks for posting the info.

He was a democrat in the VA Senate and Congress, went independent and started backing the Republicans, then officially became a Republican, lost narrowly in 2008, then left the GOP for the Constitution party in 2010.

The funds raised in these FReepathons go to pay our current quarter expenses. But we're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little extra now, if we can, and the rest next quarter.

If Conservatives can’t win a Primary, in the Republican Party, we can not hope to win any General Election.

Third Party strategies help OBAMA!

(And, perhaps, provide a temporary ego boost for the emotionally needy types)

Sorry, but if Romney is the nominee, my family's votes go elsewhere.

In 2008 there was a split in that party and the faction that supported staying the Constitution party affiliate lost I guess. Alan Keyes was the AIP nominee in 2008, not Constitution Party candidate Chuck Baldwin who ran a write in campaign in the state.

I have no idea what will happen with that this year.

"limited government, border security, rapidly adopting a balanced budget and enacting term limits. "

Sounds like he's got a RonPaul foreign policy plank, if any.

Well, that's good to know because the GOP candidates have so destroyed each other for the GE, I'm looking at voting Third Party. I will NEVER vote for the scum-bag RINO-Rom who destroys his opponents with his bankroll. I can no longer support Rick Santorum. The reason he lost in PA by 18 percentage points is his "out of touch" views like mouthing off about women in combat and contraception being "bad for America". Women vote in large numbers, but they will not vote for him. Paul is a kook and Newt has more baggage than a Greyhound bus. So...........WHAT THE HELL. Not one of these guys can beat Obozo. What crappy candidates we've ended up with this year. But, no wonder people don't want to run against the Moderate Mormon who has the money to destroy everyone except the Marxist Muslim currently in the White House. May the best S.O.B. win!!!

He lost in 2006 because it was a democrat landslide year and his opponent was the son of a beloved former Governor.

This birth control nonsense will be ancient history by November.

Yeah; by November 7th after the Election is over. Why do you think Rick lost by 18 percentage points to the brain-dead Bob Casey? WOMEN VOTE and if you’re married, you know they don’t forget!!!
