On Friday's CBS This Morning, Rick Santorum pushed back against Charlie Rose's interrogation about supporter Foster Friess's recent "bad off-color joke" on contraception, all but name-dropping former Obama pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright as an example of the media's double standard on playing "gotcha" politics with Republicans, but not Democrats.
Rose initially countered, "This is not gotcha; what this is, is trying to understand exactly what Rick Santorum stands for, and what he might say or do as president." But the GOP presidential candidate wasn't having any of it: "You don't do this with President Obama...he sat in a church for 20 years, and [you] defended him- that, oh, he can't possibly believe what he listened to for 20 years. It's a double standard...and I'm going to call you on it"

The American people want to see someone act like a winner and then they will rally for that person. People know Obama is already a loser but still question whether he's less of a loser than the GOP candidates.
Yea! I like it. Go Rick!
That was a good start, but I believe he could have been a lot more aggressive with it. The media are shameless paritsans, and our candidate should hold them accountable because everyone knows they lie and are arrogant.
This is how to do it—hit back the media scum on their hypocrisy and double standards in how they handle Zero with kid gloves while preying on every syllable Republican candidates or their supporters utter. Play offense—no defense. Don’t apologize. Romney might learn something from this instead of always just apologizing when the media plays its gotcha games with him. The 4th estate has become a 5th column. Treat them as such. Good job Rick.
Bravo, Rick - more!
But let’s be clear about one thing:
Republicans “stepped into it a little bit” on the wider
debate over controversy over contraception
There IS NO DEBATE over contraception. This is a manufactured issue made up by Democrats, period.
It wasn’t off color, it was funny and TRUE!
“But the GOP presidential candidate wasn’t having any of it: “You don’t do this with President Obama...he sat in a church for 20 years, and [you] defended him- that, oh, he can’t possibly believe what he listened to for 20 years. It’s a double standard...and I’m going to call you on it”
Wanna bet that part of the interview will NOT be broadcast ?
Rose was chatting with Brokaw the weekend before the 2008 election, wherein they basically admitted the media’s failure at vetting Obama, that they didn’t know much about Obama, his beliefs, his core.
WE NEED TO VET THE CRIMINAL LIBERAL MEDIA AND CALL THEM OUT FOR THEIR HYPOCRISY AS SANTORUM IS DOING AND GRINGRICH HAS DONE IN THE PAST AND WE NEED TO DO IT EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY!!!!!!
sorry for being loud but its ABOUT time someone in the GOP speaks out rather than the usual bend over and take it policy!!!
Good for Rick. STAND UP AND SHOUT IT OUT. We will NOT be silenced. We are on the RIGHT side and will WILL NOT be defeated.
I think it’s great that we can pull out all the stops and discuss contraceptives, and immorality in this country, AND how it’s related to our bad economy. Rick has dared to tell more truth than any other candidate in decades! Let Rick offer a *REAL* alternative to Obama. This is it, folks. Now or never! LET ‘ER RIP!
Will the Republicans FINALLY stand up to Obama’s servile, complaisant, undistinguished media (Obama SCUM)?
Charlie Rose looks more and more like Lurch everyday
Good job, Rick. Everyone needs to attack the media. When you see these Goebbel’s scum, call them nazis and traitors. It’s time these seditionists felt the hate wherever they are.
That is FIRST thing Santorum has done that I like - and I do like it.
Four years late is better than never. Go Rick!!!
I like a lot of what he’s done, but this is where he should be. Sure worked for Newt. Republicans have got to learn that there’s no making friends with the MSM. Look at McCain. They just adored him (hero and all, someone who joked with the media about these religious folks, etc.), and BOOM! he’s front-page NYT fodder for an illicit affair based on conjecture.
if Santorum keeps up these kind of responses, he might have a fighting chance should he get the GOP nomination. this is what all our candidates should be bringing up instead of responding to questions from the MSM aimed at discrediting them or their opponents in the GOP primaries. this sort of MSM double standard needs to be brought up again and again during debates, and at rallies.
