One question....what would Newt’s comments be? Santo is a rookie and is dangerous. This is grown up times. Newt is the only one that understands. For goodness sake he teaches at the war college for the military.

"I doubt we break 40% in the election with him."

Yep that's the number I've been prognosticating for a couple of weeks now. To little more than derision and name calling by the Santorum faithful.

If the US looks like it might generate enough oil to affect the world prices, it would definitely get terrorist attention. What do you think pays for all the radical clerics, radical madrassas, etc, etc?

There are thousands of miles of pipeline (oil and gas) running unmonitored and unguarded all over the US. A bunch of terrorist sabotage events would do a lot of damage to the US economy.

Terrorists would not specifically target N Dakota, but I think what he meant was that just because places are far from major cities does not mean they are not potential targets.

Well, looky here, another thread blasting Santorum. Just like the thread about CNN cancelling the debate, I see a lot of the same posters.

Would someone please explain what they think is so goofy about his assertion. Thank you.

"I doubt we break 40% in the election with him."

My vote is worthless anyway because I'm in WA. Unless someone else gets in this thing, or Newt pulls off a miracle, it's sure looking like our side will have record low turn out.

"Islamists intend to attack energy infrasctructure"

There is no intelligence to support that assertion. All indicators are that they want to kill people in the highest numbers possible.

“Islamic Terrorists are interested in body count above all other things. That’s why they call it terrorism instead of sabotage. “

I don’t think you understand the Iranians. An Arab gets some random kid to blow himself up in the Shuk. Iranians strategise, develop nuclear weapons and counter-intelligence programs.

Having been responsible for homeland security related issues for many years, he is not wrong in his assessment. It took years for me to get my officers trained in rapid response (active shooter) because that stuff doesn’t happen here.

Understand that rural areas are very vulnerable. The area he is talking about is experiencing rapid growth so ‘out of towners’ will not stand out. If I wanted to cause fear I would hit rural America. Imagine an area where one or two officers are on duty PER COUNTY. One call ties up all the resources.

Anything any of our candidates say will be ridiculed. He is not wrong, but timing may not be right.

The guy is nothing short of bazaar. He has made so many, really moronic statements, that not even he has the time to explain them. The MSM will rip this idiot into confetti for Obama to use in his inaugural parade.

The truth isn't moronic and nobody gives a sh7t whether or not you vote third party. The only morons here are the shmucks who think jihadists will not target American energy production.

That’s not what Santorum said. That was a biased headline by Romney’s boys at National Review and idiots on the coasts who do not actually understand what is going in North Dakota. Energy is the achilles heel of the US.

Islamic Terrorists are interested in body count above all other things. That's why they call it terrorism instead of sabotage.

The purpose of terrorism is to reduce the enemy's will to resist your demands. It can be accomplished with body counts, sabotage, oil shutoffs, economic boycotts, legal threats, riots, whatever.

General Presidente Rick "Head Strong" Santorum seized upon the Clapper intelligence report and ordered all women to evacuate North Dakota which he deemed to be on the front line of terrorism.

Now the MSM is going to paint him as a nut. That’d be like saying in 2000 that someone would try to fly airplanes into the Pentagon, the WH/Capitol, and the WTC. And of course we know that would never happen, either.

Suppose you tell us exactly how “terrorists” will attack the “oil production areas” in North Dakota? Do you even have half a clue about just what it is you are talking about? Or, do you know what the field looks like and how it is produced?

Probably not one teeny widdle bit, I bet. You were so busy shilling for your moronic candidate, you jumped right in, and made fantastic claims that are so far over your head, that it made you look even dumber than your candidate.

Late on the night of 9/11/01, there was a small refinery fire in Lake Charles, LA, which ultimately proved to be accidental, but people in the area were going nuts thinking they'd just been attacked.

24 hours earlier, people would have ruthlessly mocked anybody that said they could be a potential terrorist target.

"Would someone please explain what they think is so goofy about his assertion."

Read my posts on this thread.

There is no intelligence in the public domain that would suggest terrorists would attack this proposed pipeline, the ND oil fields or any other production facility.

All the available intelligence suggests they will go after population centers...even if that happens to be a refinery or a nuke plant.

This is nothing but bizarre conjecture on Santorum's part and it shows he will NOT play well in a general election.

Up to this point I though he had a fair chance at the GOP nomination. Now I am convinced he will NOT be the nominee.

Thankfully.
