The phenom explains his favorite musical acts to Fuse

I’ve followed Jackie’s career almost from day one and wasn’t totally surprised that she would be a great singer.
I just never thought she would do it in such a short space of time. (3 years from when I first discovered her on her mom’s YouTube).
She is phenomenal..
Thanks for that link. That young lady truly is phenomenal.
What a voice.
>>>And I understand he is a Harvard graduate too.
In Economics no less. Saw it said on Twitter that Lin is the only person with a Harvard Econ degree doing something meaningful right now :)
More favorites (a little more intense but still legitimately Christian):
Fireflight (For Those Who Wait, Stay Close, Desperate)
Disciple (Dear X - You Don’t Own Me, Things Left Unsaid)
Red (Faceless, Start Again, Breathe Into Me)
Yep. She’s truly ‘one of a kind’.
:0)
Thanks.
I agree, but I know I'm in the minority. I prefer traditional hymns sung by choirs and accompanied by organs. However, it seems that electric guitars and drums have chased choirs and organs out of most churches, and I can't think of a decent hymn that has been written since Bertha Mae Lillenas wrote "Jesus Is Always There" in 1934.
“Jeuss Is My Boyfriend” sounds more like the South Park parody of Christian music, than actual Christian Music.
Thad Cockrell
Mike Farris
Buddy Miller
Steve Taylor
Paul Thorn
Ruthie Foster
Danny Flowers
Bill Mallonee (Vigilantes of Love)
Jars of Clay
Kieran Kane
Martin Sexton
You are what you listen to. Garbage in, garbage out.
So true. I used to listen to strictly secular music for most of my life, but for the most part, the "messages" were at best bland, at worst crude, callow, and even vulgar.
It was my long-suffering wife that finally got me into Christian music (which I've now listened to for about four years). I just love it. The message is always positive, edifying, uplifting, and often very moving.
I know some of the artists who are Christians on your list. Thad Cockrell has an amazing voice. Jars of Clay is a good rock band too.
And as for Kieran Kane, I just love his style of bluegrass. He's one of my favorites. Pure toe-tapping pleasure!
I am a Professional-Sports-Phobe. I specifically have no interest whatsoever in professional basketball. I have never watched a professional basketbal game in my life. Until Last night, because The Sacramento Kings my local team was playing in New York, and I wanted to see what all the brouhaha is about. Lin seems to be untouched by the thug-celebrity disease so fart, he is clearly a great player and I hope he's immune to the envirenment.
Good luck to him.
So are these lyrics actual "Christian" lyrics or from South Park?
You are my desire
No one else will do
Cause nothing else could take your place
To feel the warmth of your embrace.
Here’s a live link to great radio station out of Maine. Positive 89.3

I'm not good, but I've gotten good enough so that people cam recognize the tunes I'm playing out of old copies of The Broadman Hymnnal and The Baptist Hymnal.
These songs had real meaning in my life, and still do.
Very humble and soul-searching.
Thanks, GSW!
But I can get a couple of Christian stations coming from Vegas: K-Love (which is a Christiannetcast, I think), and S.O.S.
My truck radio is set to those stations and a few others.
My 14 year old daughter likes “Red” a bunch, but has a lot of variety of Christian music on her I-pod. The other daughter is into the softer stuff.
My 16 year-old son has mainly (only?) Christian music on his I-pod, but mainly “screamo”, and rap. I gotta laugh at the stuff he listens too, but don’t have to yell at him too much to turn it down.
And it's not only her pure voice. She has a very mature stage presence.
What an amazing kid.
