The Mormon faith of presidential candidate Mitt Romney has been one of the hot topics throughout the Republican's campaign. But a recent photo posted on social network website Twitter took speculation about the strength of his religious beliefs to new heights. It shows the GOP nominee wearing an unbuttoned white shirt with his Mormon underwear clearly visible underneath. Also known as a Temple garment, it typically covers the shoulders and extends to the knees, in deference to rules surrounding the Church of the Latter Day Saints' temples.

So if the Beatles had a “Magical Musical Mystery Tour” Mittens is on a “Magical Mystery Underwear Tour”?

When worn with a button up, or even a pull over shirt, it simply looks like a T-Shirt underneath.
Many people wear white t-shirts underneath their normal shirts, and unless someone wants to make his religion an issue, it should not matter.
And, in fact, IMHO, it really shouldn’t be an issue. What are his stances on the issues, how firm is he in those stances, what is his record...those are the real issues. That’s why, here in Idaho, and particularly because of those last two questions (how firm he is, and his past record) I will be voting for Rick Santorum or Newt over Romney...not because of his underclothes.
Now, if he happens to be the nominee against Obama, I will support him against the abject marxist...but am doing all I can to try and keep that from happening.
And I say that as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
It looks more like a white T-shirt that I wear most everyday under my shirts and I am not a Mormon. Romney’s choice of underwear is irrelevant just as much as the boxers or briefs question posed to Clinton. If we only paid half as much attention to the candidates record and policies we might get better nominees. PS I am not a Romney supporter either.
Actually Mitt’s underwear is close to the bottom of topics in the world which concern me at the moment. Perhaps ranking even lower than Whitney Houston.
Okay, how long before he gets a call from Armani?..............Photoshop anybody?............
...and you happen to have this photo in your collection because ????

With all due respect, Jeff, don’t you think Obama and the rats will make his religion an issue?
Since Obama cannot run on his record, word is he will pull out the race card big time.
‘Until 1978, the LDS church banned men of African descent from its priesthood, a position open to nearly all Mormon males and the gateway to sacramental and leadership roles. The church had also barred black men and women from temple ceremonies that promised access in the afterlife to the highest heaven.’

Can’t think this thread will ever be as much fun as we had with Brown’s pictures.
Really, is this important?
Admittedly, I did not go to the link to read the whole piece.
But I must say that I am sickened by the attacks on Romney’s religion. From what little I know of Mormonism, I think it is a strange religion, but I usually find it very distasteful to mock people for their religious beliefs.
The tenets of Mormonism are not a threat to America or to Western Civilization, AFAIK, unlike mohammedism. And it seems like those who follow Mormonism are upstanding members of society.
PS:I am by no means a Romney supporter.
I believe they will only go there as a matter of last resort because it would open up his own can of worms regarding Black Liberation Theology which openly teaches against America and where he sat for 20 years listening to the most hateful screeds against this country imaginable.
That’s never been truly vetted enough and Romney will have the money and will to do if necessary.
There’s plenty more to go after Romney on, as I indicated, and they will have a hay day with that unless Romney can make some kind of defense and turn the tables on Obama with his own abysmal, anti-American, economy killing record as President.

Good point.
True about Omuslim and his ‘church’, but no candidate has the guts to attack him on this issue.
(Well, maybe Newt- but I wouldn’t count on it)
I'm wearing one right now, as I type this.
For those believers in Jesus who are not Mormon, I would remind you that Jesus would also have worn the same "special Jewish t-shirt" as Orthodox Jews do today.

I think that I'd have to agree with that.
Let's get off of the religion nonsense and keep our focus on what is important here - we're in the process of electing a President, not the country's moral leader.
I don’t think any of the candidates have the guts to attack Obama on his ‘church’- except maybe Newt.
I’d pay to see a candidate confront him with his life
long association with Muslims, Communists and radicals,
his going to Kenya and campaigning for the murderous Odinga on the taxpayor’s dime etc, etc. It will never happen.
And pious Jews wear tallitot and teffilin. So what?
