It's not that hard to do; for we have just a few simple rules to follow:

The Rules

Learn and obey all missionary rules.
Keep your thoughts, words, and actions in harmony with the gospel message.
Read only books, magazines, and other material authorized by the Church.
Don't debate or argue.
Center your mind on your mission.
Dress conservatively. Elders: white shirts, conservative ties, and business suits. Sisters: conservative colors and skirts that cover your knees. No floor-length skirts or dresses.
Cut your hair regularly.
Keep your hair clean and neatly combed at all times in the approved style.
Be neat and clean.
Bathe frequently.
Use deodorant.
Polish your shoes.
Iron your shirt and business suit.
Arise at 6:30 A.M.
Study for 2 hours every morning.
Proselytize for 10 hours between 9:30 A.M. and 9:30 P.M.
Turn off your lights at 10:30 P.M.
Exercise regularly.
Write in your journal regularly.
Follow the "Missionary Gospel Study Program" (31157) for your personal study.
Regularly study the Missionary Guide and the Discussions.
Attend Sunday priesthood or Relief Society meetings, Sunday School, and sacrament meeting.
Attend the general session of Stake Conference.
Attend general conference broadcasts if available.
Avoid all other church meetings unless you have a special assignment or are brining an investigator.
Proselytize as much as possible on weekends and holidays because this is when you'll find people home.
End your preparation day at 6:00 P.M. and proselytize from 6:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.
Wear your missionary uniform in public on preparation day while not engaged in recreational activities.
Arise at 6:30 on preparation day and study for 2 hours from the approved books.
Take care of your physical preparation for the week on preparation day: wash your clothes, clean your apartment, wash your car, get your haircut, and shop for groceries.
Write to your parents every week on preparation day.
Write less frequently to your siblings, friends, and acquaintances.
Don't communicate with any friends or acquaintances that are within or close to your mission boundaries, except as a part of official mission business.
Plan safe, wholesome, and uplifting activities for preparation day.
Stay with your companion during all activities.
Do not go on road trips.
Do not leave your assigned area without permission
Do not watch television.
Do not view unauthorized videocassettes.
Do not listen to the radio.
Do not listen to unauthorized audiocassettes or CD’s.
Do not participate in musical groups.
Do not participate in athletic teams.
Do not sponsor athletic teams.
Do not engage in contact sports.
Do not engage in water sports.
Do not engage in winter sports.
Do not engage in motorcycling.
Do not engage in horseback riding.
Do not engage in mountain climbing.
Do not embark on a private boat.
Do not embark in a private airplane.
Do not handle firearms.
Do not handle explosives.
Do not swim.
Do not play full court basketball.
Do not play basketball in leagues.
Do not play basketball in tournaments.
You may play half-court basketball.
Never be alone.
Seek advice from your mission president if your companion is "having difficulties".
Be loyal to your companion.
Ask your mission president for help if your companion doesn’t obey the rules.
Pray with your companion every day.
Study with your companion every day.
Plan your work with your companion every day.
Take time at least once a week for companionship inventory.
Seek to be one in spirit and purpose and help each other succeed.
Always address your companion as Elder or Sister.
Sleep in the same bedroom as your companion.
Do not sleep in the same bed as your companion.
Do not arise before your companion.
Do not retire after your companion. (apparently, being together is more important than getting the correct amount of sleep that your unique body requires.)
Frequently study with your companion the Missionary Guide section on companions.
Never be alone with anyone of the opposite sex.
Never associate inappropriately with anyone of the opposite sex (conversely, they don't mention whether or not it is against the rules to associate inappropriately with anyone of the same sex).
Do not flirt.
Do not date.
Do not communicate via phone or letter with anyone of the opposite sex living within or near mission boundaries.
Do not visit a single or divorced person of the opposite sex unless accompanied by a couple or another adult member of your sex.
Try to teach single investigators in a member’s home or have missionaries of the same sex teach them.
Always follow the above rules, even if the situation seems harmless.
Use the commitment pattern to get referrals from members.
Keep your dinner visits with member briefs and during the customary dinner hour in the area.
Remember to say thank you to those who feed you.
Visit members and nonmembers only at appropriate times.
Do not counsel or give medical treatment.
Do not stay in the homes of people when they are on vacation.
Only write letters to family members and friends at home.
Do not telephone parents
Do not telephone relatives.
Do not telephone friends.
Do not telephone girlfriends.
Contact your mission president in case of an emergency.
Take problems and questions to your mission president.
Do not write to the President of the Church or to other General Authorities. Letters from missionaries to General Authorities are referred back to the mission president
Respect the customs, traditions, and property of the people who you are trying to convert.
Obey all mission rules.
Obey the laws of the land.
Do not get involved in politics.
Do not get involved in commercial activities.
Do not give any information about the area.
Respect the customs and cultures of those who you are trying to convert to your own customs and culture.
Respect the beliefs, practices, and sites of other religions.
Do not say or write anything bad about the political and cultural circumstances where you serve.
Do not become involved in adoption proceedings.
Do not suggest or encourage emigration. (This rule is a bit ironic, given the now-defunct doctrine of gathering the believers to Zion)
Be courteous.
Provide community service.
Do not provide community service that isn’t approved by your mission president.
Do not provide more than 4 hours a week of community service.
Do not provide community service during the evening, weekend or holidays—those are peek proselytizing times.
Your mission president must approve your housing.
Keep your housing unit clean.
Do not live with single or divorced people of the opposite sex.
Do not live where the spouse is frequently absent.
Your living unit must have a private bath and entrance.
You may occasionally fast for a special reason, but generally the monthly fast is sufficient.
Do not fast longer than 24 hours at a time.
Do not ask friends, relatives, and members to join in special fasts for investigators.
Maintain your health.
Eat a healthy diet.
Sleep from 10:30 to 6:30.
Follow the approved exercise program.
Keep your body, clothes, dishes, linens, towels and housing unit clean.
Dispose of your garbage properly and promptly.
Follow the safety rules for all of your stuff.
Seek medical care if you are in an accident or become sick.
Be immunized.
Spend your money only on things relating to your mission.
Budget your money carefully.
Keep a record of what you spend.
Do not spend more than your companion.
Do not loan money.
Do not borrow money.
Keep a reserve fund of $50 to $100 at all times for transfers.
Pay your bills before leaving an area.
Pay cash for all resale literature and supplies ordered from the mission office.
Do not waste money on souvenirs.
Do not waste money on unnecessary items.
Be a frugal photographer.
Do not accumulate excess baggage.
Obey custom laws and regulations.
Pay fast offerings each fast Sunday to the bishop or branch president where you serve.
Pay tithing on outside sources of income (i.e. interest) to your home bishop or branch president.
Evaluate your funds a few months before the end of your mission. If you have more than you need, ask that less be sent so that you can return home without excess money.
Do not drive without a license.
Drive only Church-owned vehicles.
Do not drive members’ cars.
Do not drive nonmembers’ cars.
Do not give rides to members or investigators in Church-owned cars.
Use cars only on approved mission business.
Use cars only within the assigned geographical area.
Be conscious of safety at all times.
Drive defensively.
Wear your seat belt.
Pray for the Lord’s protection while driving.
If your companion is driving, assist him or her.
Do not tamper with the vehicle’s odometer.
Know bicycle safety rules.
Use extreme caution on your bicycle.
Do not ride your bicycle after dark.
Do not ride your bicycle in heavy traffic.
Do not ride your bicycle in adverse weather conditions.
Go directly to your new area when transferred.
Find your new companion without delay when transferred.
Have a maximum of two suitcases and a briefcase.

The notion that this nation’s founders were not Christian is a post modern myth. Jefferson and Franklin may have been deists, but if you would take the time to read what they wrote it is much more Christian in worldview than anything we read today.

But I digress, of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, some 29 had seminary degrees. The evidence is irrefutable. This is a Christian nation, and there were more Founders than Jefferson and Franklin, my friend.

It also seems un-Christian to me: We have been directed by our Holy Father in Heaven to love our neighbor as ourself, to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. And I don't think the definition of "neighbor" is limited to our own coreligionists exclusively.

LOVING my 'neighbor' does NOT include letting them go on their merry way, down a BROAD path that the BIBLE clearly defines as wrong.

How convienient for your desire to condemn members of my Church. No matter what we say, feel, or think...no matter what we do, in your convienent world we are damned unless we come to your way of thinking.

Can you not see how purely self serving and un-compassionate and loving that is? Particularly when we witness Christ to you in sincerity?

The fact is, you have judged and decided you know it all...even to the point of knowing the thoughts and devotions of our hearts and souls. Well, you do not.

I have chose Christ and done so in a faith that teaches Him and teaches that we should live as He did, which most of us, as weak as we are, try to do.

...and I thank God in Heaven that Jesus Himself will be the Judge and that He knows my heart...not you. You are filled with indignation and judgement and rancor and a zeal that definitely has an anger and self-justification over tones to it for all to see. I pray you can set those aside, they are, IMHO, wholly unbecoming, but it will be between you and your mMker, as it is with all of us.

I say again, Jesus Christ is my personal Savior. There is only one who fits both the historical and spiritual definition I have described, and it is He, not you, who saves and who Judges and I look forward to His judgement of me and mine and His tender love and mercies.

He is my Savior and His atonment has saved me despite anything you can say, quote, read, blame, or try and perpetrate. He is that mighty to save, to save even one as me. I thank Gpod for that Salvation and will witness it and share it to my dying breath.

As I have in the past, rather than condemn you for our differences, I will bless you and seek His blessings on you for your own faith in Christ and your own acceptance of Him crucified. That blessing is true, it is sincere, and it will stand as a witness of my own sincerity irrespective of what you think and say about me and mine.

Your priorities might be fine, but your discernment is clearly off. MormonISM teaches things that are clearly in contradiction to Christianity. Not a single Christian denomination accepts Mormonism as being a Christian church. Mormons and other cults notoriously use Christian terminology to confuse others into thinking they are mainstream Christians, when their meanings are far different.

I don’t strain at issues with Mormons. I strain at the false teachings of MormonISM, just like I do with other false religions. It is a Christian’s duty to rebuke false TEACHNGS with the hope of leading others to a saving relationship with the authentic Jesus Christ of The Bible.

You claim that every believer that calls on His name is part of the church. Belief is the key component of that, and what you believe in is critical. If a person believed that Jesus is a cat deity from the planet Goolah and is one of many gods, yet insisted on being called a “Christian”, most would object because that doctrine is anything but Christian. Many call on the name of The Lord, yet don’t really know Him.

I don’t care what organization is a bigger danger to this nation. I care about individual souls and about people being mislead into a false religion. Eternal lives are at stake. The devil has many false prophets to lure people away from the true Faith. Apparently, you aren’t concerned with that.

Spare me the whining. Your hypocrisy is limitless. Mormons think they are the only church with the truth and that all non-mormons won't make it to the highest level of paradise. Your organization sends out missionaries who tell Christians that they must become Mormons if they want to spend eternity with Heavenly Father.

You and many other mormons use Christian terms on threads like this in an attempt to sound like mainstream Christians. Mormon doctrine is vastly different from traditional Christianity, so Christians rightly object to mormons hijacking the “Christian” moniker. We had the term first, so go find another label to call yourselves. It's the deception that is employed by mormons that is objected to. Quit pretending to be in the Christian mainstream with all of your statements about professing Jesus Christ and so forth. You have your exclusive religion, so be proud of it and accept the fact that you're not part of traditional Christianity.

Go practice your religion and we'll see on judgment day whose teaching is correct.

What you leave out when you claim to worship the Jesus of the Bible is what I find deceptive. How about giving readers an honest answetr to the following few questions, Jeff, since you claim to have taught missionaries for your religion:

1. Did the god of MormonISM have to earn the attributes of godhood, as Joseph Smith taught?
2. Was the jesus of MormonISM married and to more than one woman perhaps?
3. Is or was the jesus of MormonISM ever 'the brother' of satan?
4. Did Jesus have to live in a human body to eventually become a god through 'progression'?

If you really wanted to be honmest about your religion, a faux form of Christianity, you would not dodge such teachings from your founders of LDS inc. How about it, Jeff, want to address those few questions, or will you again dodge the truth about MormonISM?

I answered you and all of your assertions and all of your accusations in my last post...and now you want me to somehow forget the way you behave, the way you attack, and slash and burn to bully your interpretation onto other people. I do not personally believe that is Christ's way and I do not choose to respond to that form of dialog and inquisition.

But keep reading because I will get around to the essential point you seek.

Now, Turtlepower, no one is whining in the least. You clearly do not know me, or my background and so you make judgements about my person based on things that do not agree with your worldview. I responded to others here as I saw fit, sincerely and directly. If you dont't like it, I'm sorry for that, You'll have to learn to deal with it if you can without resorting to sophmoric name calling and cheap school yard tactics.

I am proud to be an American. I cherish our liberties and our constitution and am true to it as I have sworn to be. I am proud of my family, my beautiful wife and five children and eight grandchildren. I am humbled by my faith and love for Jesus Christ and the ability I have...and recently have been preserved through serious cancer...to witness His name to my famiy and whomever will listen, which I will do to the day I die. I am proud to have been able to stand up and serve my country and community...and to stand against tyranny when it was inconvienent and even dangerous to do so, which many on this forum can attest to. So please, if you don't mind, spare me the "whining" accusations. Or continue if you must, it's your call, but it rolls off like water off of a duck's back.

Now, MHG, let me ask you a few questions in return...since you are always indicating that I answer yours.

1. Do you believe that the Atonement and blood of Jesus Christ saves? Simple question (as you say), yes or no?

2. Do you believe Jesus Christ has the power, through His grace and atonement for anyone who accepts His grace and Atonement in their heart as their Lord, master, and Savior? Simple question, yes or no?

3. Finally, does Christ even have the power, if I, Jeff Head (or anyone else), humbly and sincerely ask Jesus Christ, in prayer in my heart to shower His grace on me, confess myself before Him accepting Him as my Savior and Redeemer, asking that His atonement purify me and cleanse me of sin...I ask you MHG, does He have the power to save even me? Again, simple question, Yes or No?

If you are truly a Christian the answer to all three questions is obvious.

I have confessed Him, MHG. I have pled for His saving grace in my life. I have taken that name upon me and acceppted Him and His atonement and saving blood in my life as my personal Savior. And He has done so.

It is up to Him to judge me. According to your own faith I am saved and the rest is incosequential to that essential truth. And that is the essential truth, and all of your attempts to deny that, to play it down...to, in essence place yourself in Christ's place and Judge me and my heart, and try and deny me salvation when that is His judgement to make, will not make one whit of a difference to the relationship and love I have for my Savior Jesus Christ. and His power to save me.

You should rejoice with me in this, and seek His blessings on me as I do upon you as a consequence of your own faith. Yet, you would deny me that salvation in your zeal to discredit the LDS Church and damn me to hell if I do not somehow come around to your way of thinking on other points.

Again, shame on you.

As I have said numerous times before...JESUS CHRIST, born in Bethlehem, taken to Egypt to escape Herod, raised in Nazareth, taught in the temple at an early age, began His mission, turned water into wine as His first miracle that we have recorded in the Bible. Performer of miracles, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out evil spirits, feeding the masses, calming the seas and storms, etc. Taught His gospel of love and peace and tolerance.

Who told His followers to keep His commandments if they loved Him. Who told His disciples to be therefore perfect even as their Father in Heaven was perfect. Who taught directly that He was the Messiah. Who was taken by the Romans and religious leaders of that day and falsly condemend and put to death. Who suffered the pains and sins of all men, to save all men who accept Him and come unto Him.

Died, was raised the 3rd day. Ascended into Heaven and promised to return one day in great power and glory and rule the earth in a glorious Millenium.

This is the Jesus Christ I worship and who is my Savior and His power is strong enough to save even me...despite whatever else you may think of me and my faith.

Based on your own faith, once I have done this...AND I HAVE...then all the other is immaterial, because Jesus Christ is mighty to save, even a sinner like me.

Again, I leave that witness with you...for you to rejoice with me in...or for you to kick against. But the witness is sincere and true. It is not a deception as anyone who really knows me and has been around me enough to see how I live can attest, and it will and does stand in its own right because it is rooted in, and firmly founded in the love of, and atonement of Jesus Christ, my Lord.

You keep insisting that Christians deny you of salvation, but Mormons do they same to Christians! Quit playing the victim card! That is whining. I haven’t made judgements on you as a person, but definately on your behavior. It’s hypocritical for you to act so offended that Christians reject MormonISM when Mormons reject traditional Christianity!

If Mormons continue to claim that only your church has the truth and that only Mormons will spend eternity with Heavenly Father in the highest level of paradies, then how DARE you lecture others on making exclusive claims on spiritual matters.

You can use all the fancy Christian terms you want, but as we all know your meaning behind those common terms is different from Christians. You’re not impressing anybody with your Christian lingo.
