AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

I’m not Catholic so it’s hard for me to comment.

But . . . I think in general it’s a dangerous thing for the Church to enter into an alliance with Caesar. Especially when Caesar is a (D).

Cardinal Bernadine was a lib. The Chicago media loved him.

FYI You got to listen to Chris Plante during Hannity. He had a great show this morning. Today’s Listen On Demand hasn’t been posted yet but usually is by the end of Rush.

The Rahe peice is very powerful. So glad that Rush is devoting time to it—it needs a larger audience than what a blog like Ricochet would have.

Today I saw my first Obama/Biden bumper sticker...it was on a car owned by a black...

Wow, where did you move to, FRiend?

I've lost count of how many of those 2012 Obama/Biden stickers I've seen, especially up here in the deep-blue northeast. And also up and down I-95 between CT and northern Virginia as well. Ugh, it sucks to live among Obama Zombies!

No church has gone off the deep end worse than “my” Episcopal Church.

Not only do they support Sodomite Agenda they openly accept abortion as OK and that ‘social justice’ crap.

I’ve seen them here in Memphis as well. I’ve yet to see any for the GOP, save some Cain 2012 stickers.

FYI You got to listen to Chris Plante during Hannity.

We heard Chris Plante live on our drive to DC last Tuesday for CPAC... great show!

Didn't he used to be on WMAL on weekends only, then disappeared for awhile? What is his usual time slot? Thanks...

Thanks for the link to the article Rush is talking about!

I do think that because of Obamamessiah, the Catholic Curch is waking up, and changes will now be in the offing.

This article from 2008 _right after_ B.O. was elected, show their apprehension even back then:

Bishops in Baltimore

Cardinal Francis George of Chicago, the president of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, and Archbishop Pietro Sambi, the Vatican’s U.S. ambassador, just addressed the nation’s Catholic bishops at their meeting here. ...

...I’m posting here the full transcript of my e-mail exchange with Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver on the church and abortion politics. The questions were sent Nov. 4 and answered on Nov. 5. :

Q: What is the message you intend to bring to your fellow bishops when you discuss the practical and pastoral implications of political support for abortion during the assembly in Baltimore?

A: Any message to my fellow bishops should probably be shared with them first, and not the general public.

Q: Do you expect a new document or guidelines from the USSCB about Catholic politicians who support abortion and their fitness to receive Communion? If not, what do you expect?

A: I’ve said for the past decade that the 1998 bishops’ pastoral letter, “Living the Gospel of Life,” is the best guide to American Catholic political responsibilities the bishops have ever produced.

I think we need to take a hard look at whether the periodic “Faithful Citizenship” documents should be retired permanently.

We need a new approach to conscience formation in the public square. “Faithful Citizenship” didn’t and doesn’t work because it’s been applied by different people in very different ways.

If a majority of Catholics vote for Obama, who supports legalized abortion, should the bishops be held responsible in part for this?

People have free will. Bishops will always have limited influence over the decision-making of adults. But it’s also true that Catholics have been much too optimistic about our role in American culture for the past 40 years.

Catholics, including many bishops, have been naïve. We’ve been homogenized and digested by the society around us. Bishops need to take responsibility for allowing that to happen.

If Obama wins, what should the bishops say about Joe Biden? Is it a problem for the Catholic Church to have its two pro-choice politicians occupying the vice-presidency and the role of House Speaker? If so, what should be done about it?

The problems with the “pro-choice” behavior of Speaker Pelosi and now Vice President-elect Biden are serious and have not been resolved by this election.

I think for the moment we can leave it at that.”

Daniel Hannan sounds great now, but just a few years ago he supported Obama.

Wow, really? I didn't know that... disappointing if it's true.

Hannan gave an awe-inspiring speech at CPAC on Saturday. Here's a link to his and other speeches at CPAC 2012:
