**Obama: Soldiers in Afghanistan Must Be Fired Upon to Receive Combat Pa**

Huh?

Combat involves much more than receiving and returning fire.

Obama is a nitwit.

Well said, and thank you for your service with Darkhorse.

(I suppose it’s a sign of the times that one of my secondary thoughts upon reading this - after how obscene this arrogant and insulting scheme is - was that this would not bode well any plans to use our proud military against the civilians...)

My son in law just went active. Left today for a year serving overseas. I hate the thought of him going to that cess pool that is the middle east right now. What good can come of it?

I guess that makes the Sniper MOS obsolete, since a sniper who has allowed his position to be compromised has failed in his mission. ergo,...if a sniper receives combat pay he could be charged with dereliction of duty.

I’m awaiting Obama’s orders to not be fired upon, so all military servicemen taken under fire in combat may now be charged with Art 92 UCMJ.

You are right on point about this. I’m getting all on mine. The new system seems like a good idea to me.

Negative. It’s only based on when you are in theater. I see that a couple other active duty military freepers have joined in as well. Overall, this is a good system. You deploy, then you come home. You fill out a travel voucher (which is how it’s always been done while I’ve been in the military). The difference is that now, they look on your travel voucher and determine how many days you were in theater. That’s how much you get paid for. This doesn’t take any money from grunts, who spend lots of time in theater. It DOES take money from people (and there are a lot) who screw the system and pull strings to enter a theater for 1 or 2 days to receive a full month’s combat pay.

Eventually American soldiers will be required to (a) possess the bullet fired at them, (b) match it with a specific gun and (c) prove the intent of the person shooting. It is only right and fair. Further, they will also have to defend their intent: was it legal...was it taunting...was it to help or hurt (and so forth).

Maybe we can get him to ride the lead vehicle and scan for ied’s!

My son, like Fran's, came back physically whole, but scarred emotionally after watching the vehicle in front of him get melted down by an ied. He went ahead to retrieve the bodies but against orders and was reprimanded. His vehicle was normally the lead, but was having mechanical issues so he went second that day. They then discovered a second unexploded ied. I suppose that wouldn't count!?!?!?.

This is an insult to all who lay their lives aside to serve and protect this great nation. Talk about disrespect, this is the ultimate dis of our brave warriors. I hope this does not come even close to being a reality!

Well, if you had to schedule Air Force assets to drop you off or pick you up they really liked the 31st and 1st deal.

Little crew rest at the best hotel downtown and get 2 months Combat Pay - and tax free.

I just looked at it as an extra perk for the men since we were there from 4 to 6 months.

Forgot to add - sometimes we were just “passing through” to other places when the Air Force stopped for fuel in the “right place” and we got it for that month. Again just a perk for the men.

More than once we scheduled a reenlistment in country or at one of those stops - since the reenlistment bonus would then be tax free.

I would think that’s the least this country could do for the troops.

And if the first bullet is fatal, he makes sure they don’t get paid for the full day.

Thanks Nachum.
