Some of you don’t really represent any positions though except for the usual rhetoric and the usual “solutions”. In other words, 4 more years of generic Republican mediocrity.

We had a chance here to make some serious reforms in the way government works, from the tax code to social security and beyond. Instead, you’re happy with your bread and circuses.

Unfortunately, the VAST majority of people seem to be happy with bread and circuses.

If Gingrich, who supposedly gave such a rip-roaring speech

I watched his speech expecting some pizazz. It was a total sleeper. It was totally bland in comparison to the great red meat speeches he usually gives. The problem with Newt anymore is that he is either red hot or ice cold. No steady in between mode.

What a joke. Newt owned it.

Establishment marching orders regarding the poll dance no doubt.

Keep in mind he won it in 2008 too

Are you sure? Foxnews reported that Paul won it in 2008.

Sarah took it to these clowns big time, If Romney wins the spot, she won’t be invited back. Easily the most powerful speech of the bunch.

Sarah said more in less than an hour and said it far better than any of the current GOP candidates. Lost count of the standing O’s.

I agree...not surprised. A lot of “students” there. Thought I had the wrong channel when I first tuned in.

It was the ‘severely’ Coulter crowd....

Not going to really make much of it. One can clearly see from past results it generally does not pick the nomination winner.

10,000 were there. 3,800 voted in the straw poll. Mitt got 38% of the votes — which means that 1,444 out of 10,000 voted for him. That isn’t a landslide endorsement.

I believe Romney bought those poll results, or otherwise stacked them. But Newt’s speech proved to me that he is back on message, bam-bam-bam, with specifics and a clear explanation of why conservative principles are best. That’s the Newt who can win, IMO. He let Romney get him sidetracked for a while, but he’s back-—positive and strong. I don’t think he’ll allow Romney to do it again.

Perhaps he’s just trying to show that it wasn’t Algore and Tipper that inspired Love Story—it was really Mitt and Ann (I think it’s Ann). Honest.

Greetings zot:

Agree with your assessment. Given this poll participation rate; as a conservative barometer this CPAC poll is a rather meaningless sample.

The CPAC poll leads me to believe conservatives remain undecided, with more favoring Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum over Myth Romney. (Discounting RuPaul ballot box stuffers.)

Cheers,
OLA
