BINGO!!!!! This is the final objective of this healthcare debacle. Remember, “just give granny a pill”?

The truth is, the senior is the most expendable member of society to the left. Just ask Bernard Shaw. They are the non-producers, so they are no longer needed. To the left they are just a drain on society and are seen as the reason why their programs are not sustainable. See the left knows, that what they want is not economically sustainable if their is a large senior population. So, the solution? Deny them life-sustaining healthcare, let them die and thus keep the programs afloat. It is SICK!!!! And they don't really want these programs for the good of the people. They want them because it ensures them an unending bastion of voters and guaranteed power.

I will NEVER forget when I went to my first townhall and the absolute look of fear in the eyes of the seniors in light of the "death panels". It broke my heart. I got up to speak to my rep. and laid into him about what an affront it was to me that the senior citizens of this nation should have to worry about whether or not they will receive even basic care in their old age. I stood there and said, “These people are not expendable. They are the very pillars of our society. They are the wells of wisdom from which my children and your children draw. They are the shoulders upon which we stand. The very generation that died for the freedoms the world has today” I just spoke from my heart, because it is what I truly believe. I was not looking for accolades, but I got a standing O from all the seniors there and they came up to me with tears in their eyes to thank me and say, “You give me hope. I thought your generation had forgotten us”. What a tragic statement on our society.

Liberalism comes from the very pits of hell and they is not hyperbole!

How stupid does he think we are?

Quite stupid!

After all, 53% (69 million) of you voted for him in the last election.

This is worse than before. What we are now being forced to pay for is essentially a government funded and (as yet) indirectly government administered population control program.

Euthanasia will be next, and it will be done exactly the way this is happening.

I think this was Obama’s plan all along.

The lying sack’s explanation of the “The Compromise” was most insulting. My blood pressure must have gone up sixty points when he said, “..at no cost.” How stupid does he think we are?

He thinks we're very stupid. What's scary is the brazen attempt to pretend he will be accomodating. He's either stupid, just doesn't care how he sounds, or insane with power (possibly all three).

I don’t think LBJ had this in mind when he designed the Great Society.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C. S. Lewis

To call yesterday's unconscionable "accommodation" announcement a great and magnanimous act on behalf of "women's health" or "contraceptive rights" is deceitful and misleading on the part of this President.

Obama and the so-called "progressives" know that an act by an elected official/officials which violates the First Amendment's barrier to government intrusion is invalid; therefore, any subsequent "addition to" or "walking back" of the initial act must also be invalid. Such intrusion on "the People's" First Amendment rights is not within the purview of the President.

He arrogantly assumes that "the People" are ignorant of their rights and that this vote-getting mechanism will work to give him more power.

Remember, the so-called "progressives" who supported his election are the same people who censored the Founders' ideas of liberty from the textbooks of the very women to whom he is appealing. Many, therefore, may not understand that he is asking them to trade their ability to get "something for nothing" (another false idea) for the future liberty of generations yet to come.

"This is worse than before. What we are now being forced to pay for is essentially a government funded and (as yet) indirectly government administered population control program." - livius

Writers have been exposing socialism's tyrannical principles and goals for a century now. Those who have understood it best declared that its policies lead to tyranny and oppression.

Yet, we have arrogant Americans, born in liberty, and viewing themselves as "intellectuals" and "progressives," who have embraced socialist ideas over the ideas of liberty and are determined to impose its deadly limitations on a once-free people. Note the writer's warning that the "scheme of socialism is wholly incomplete unless it includes the power of restraining the increase of population."

Earlier this week, my post included the following:

From the Liberty Fund Library is "A Plea for Liberty: An Argument Against Socialism and Socialistic Legislation," edited by Thomas Mackay (1849 - 1912), originally published in 1891, Chapter 1, excerpted final paragraphs from Edward Stanley Robertson's essay:

"I have suggested that the scheme of Socialism is wholly incomplete unless it includes a power of restraining the increase of population, which power is so unwelcome to Englishmen that the very mention of it seems to require an apology. I have showed that in France, where restraints on multiplication have been adopted into the popular code of morals, there is discontent on the one hand at the slow rate of increase, while on the other, there is still a 'proletariat,' and Socialism is still a power in politics.
I.44
"I have put the question, how Socialism would treat the residuum of the working class and of all classes—the class, not specially vicious, nor even necessarily idle, but below the average in power of will and in steadiness of purpose. I have intimated that such persons, if they belong to the upper or middle classes, are kept straight by the fear of falling out of class, and in the working class by positive fear of want. But since Socialism purposes to eliminate the fear of want, and since under Socialism the hierarchy of classes will either not exist at all or be wholly transformed, there remains for such persons no motive at all except physical coercion. Are we to imprison or flog all the 'ne'er-do-wells'?
I.45
"I began this paper by pointing out that there are inequalities and anomalies in the material world, some of which, like the obliquity of the ecliptic and the consequent inequality of the day's length, cannot be redressed at all. Others, like the caprices of sunshine and rainfall in different climates, can be mitigated, but must on the whole be endured. I am very far from asserting that the inequalities and anomalies of human society are strictly parallel with those of material nature. I fully admit that we are under an obligation to control nature so far as we can. But I think I have shown that the Socialist scheme cannot be relied upon to control nature, because it refuses to obey her. Socialism attempts to vanquish nature by a front attack. Individualism, on the contrary, is the recognition, in social politics, that nature has a beneficent as well as a malignant side. The struggle for life provides for the various wants of the human race, in somewhat the same way as the climatic struggle of the elements provides for vegetable and animal life—imperfectly, that is, and in a manner strongly marked by inequalities and anomalies. By taking advantage of prevalent tendencies, it is possible to mitigate these anomalies and inequalities, but all experience shows that it is impossible to do away with them. All history, moreover, is the record of the triumph of Individualism over something which was virtually Socialism or Collectivism, though not called by that name. In early days, and even at this day under archaic civilisations, the note of social life is the absence of freedom. But under every progressive civilisation, freedom has made decisive strides—broadened down, as the poet says, from precedent to precedent. And it has been rightly and naturally so.
I.46
"Freedom is the most valuable of all human possessions, next after life itself. It is more valuable, in a manner, than even health. No human agency can secure health; but good laws, justly administered, can and do secure freedom. Freedom, indeed, is almost the only thing that law can secure. Law cannot secure equality, nor can it secure prosperity. In the direction of equality, all that law can do is to secure fair play, which is equality of rights but is not equality of conditions. In the direction of prosperity, all that law can do is to keep the road open. That is the Quintessence of Individualism, and it may fairly challenge comparison with that Quintessence of Socialism we have been discussing. Socialism, disguise it how we may, is the negation of Freedom. That it is so, and that it is also a scheme not capable of producing even material comfort in exchange for the abnegations of Freedom, I think the foregoing considerations amply prove."
EDWARD STANLEY ROBERTSON

I don't understand why everyone else is not fighting against this measure on simple logic.

Maybe they don't want to recognize that every "free" abortifactent only costs the life of a child.

Maybe they already sold their soul and they're OK with that.

Thank you for that post.

When they used the analogy that birth control/abortion is cheaper than living beings, then it just clicked in my mind what they are really going after. I never thought in my lifetime I would see this.
