Agree!

Something else bothers me here. 99% of women use birth control? I didn’t mind it too much hearing it from brainless news commentators, but hearing it from Sebilius really blew my mind. 98% was the percentage applied to Catholic women. Where does she get these figures? They’re insane, unqualified. But it does bolster the claim that 50% of abortions are performed on women who are current users of some form of birth-control. If that many women are on the pill (or whatever), nearly ALL abortions are performed on women using some form of contraceptive. So what conceivable good are the so-called contraceptives? And how in hell do they promote women’s (forget the aborted baby, for a moment) health?

this is not just about contraception but the MSM is playing that way, this is about sterilization, abortion.

Notice how the MSM ignore those other points and issues on this ?

We cannot let the MSM dictate the terms of this issue like we always do, remind all that this is a bigger picture than just contraception and get the message out as the MSM is doing all they can to minimize this issue.

Ask people should one Catholic hospital now be told they have to give abortions?
Regardless of of one is religious or not we have laws and amendments which state the Govt shall not infringe on religion
What part of freedom of religion do they not understand, ?

I know quite a few Catholic women who have used birth control at times for various reasons. But absolutely NONE of them support forcing the Church to pay for it when it violates their teachings.

The life expectancy for women born in the US is now about 80 years (and that should slowly increase). For more than half of a typical woman's lifespan, she cannot become pregnant and therefore has no reason to use birth control. I would guess that the percentage of women of child-bearing years who use birh control is much lower than the 98 or 99% they are quoting. It's probably not one of those questions where poll results are going to be very accurate.

The 99% contracepting figure is supposedly women who have used birth control any time in their lives, not those who are currently using at any one given moment. Somewhere I saw the real figures. I will see if I can find it. The Catholic women currently using is more in the 60-80% range. I have seen different figures in different places, and it depends on if you are talking about Christmas/Easter Catholics or practicing Catholics. But the 98% and 99% figures are just mislesding and false.
