No. It’s a principle/concept in islam, due to having insurance per se as being prohibited. Shared, cooperative insurance (sound familiar?) to minimize risk.

Also see prohibitions for most abortions, all vasectomies, almost all hysterectomies and birth control.

So -— I’m a little slow on the uptake -— the way the law now stands, the only way to get out of paying for contraceptions-sterilization-abortion drugs through your premium, is to purchase sharia-compliant insurance?
