Rick Santorum has backtracked from his 2008 endorsement of Mitt Romney by saying he was for anyone put McCain. But in this 2008 interview with Laura Ingraham Santorum praised Romney at great length contradicting some of what he says today. In the interview, Santorum calls Romney a true conservative and says he is someone we can trust.

Ugh!
Santorum calls Romney a true conservative”
Did I just hear a bubble burst?
Uh, no. Why? Even FR was pro-Romney in 2008.
Played, hell politics is politics, rush and Levin both supported Willard over McCain, the loser, then they both tried to get McCain elected. There is nothing in this but another noot attack.
Holy wow.
Do you have a shirt term memory issue ?
In 2008 ,
We all were trying to Stop McCain !
So was Rick !
Can we stop trying to destroy our only options left to fight the Marxist !
You Rick haters are getting desperate !
Can you imagine how poor Sarah Palin felt, having to carry his water as running-mate?
Newt has GOT to get his campaign going!
I’m stickin with Rick. If we can overlook some far more serious failings on the part of Gingrich, we can definitely overlook a strategic endorsement.
For that matter, the same people throwing a little tantrum about it would throw the exact same tantrum if he had endorsed McCain (who is himself backing Romney this time)
My congressman has offered a weak endorsement of Romney this time. I don’t like it but he’s a freshman facing some serious party pressure.
I even gave money to mittens in '08.
The thought of mcpain made my stomach hurt, but I voted for him when he got the nomination.
To go back and try to use the plaudits that Rick used to promote mittens over mcpain is really grasping at straws.
But how many of us joined Newt Gingrich in THIS endorsement?
The special election for the 23rd Congressional District is an important test leading up to the mid-term 2010 elections. Our best chance to put responsible and principled leaders in Washington starts here, with Dede Scozzafava.
Newt has GOT to get his campaign going!
And Santorum will say similar things in 2012 if Romney wins the nomination: the bottom line is Obama must be defeated.
This is all they got? I would back Romney over McCain too. I guess the pro Romney forces are saying, “Don’t trust anyone who would support Romney, ever”.
Knowing your history, there is little to no chance that you will agree with me, which is not my purpose. But now that you are so convinced that Santorum will be the savior, of all that is pure and conservative, give just a few reasons why you think that Santorum WILL save this country.
By saying that, I mean, I need a list of exactly what plan or plans, that Santorum has in place that will fix this mess. Do you really know? I am not looking for quotes from his rather boring speeches or debate responses. I am looking for detailed list of his planned approach with documented solutions, if he is elected President. In other words, make it exactly the same thing that Speaker Gingrich has already provided for us, in great detail.
(Take your time, because you will be doing a whole lot of fruitless searching.)
And if you pay attention....2008 was BEFORE the TARP bailout and Obamacare and 15 TRILLION dollars of wasteful spending.
End of story
Just out of curiosity who are you for???
