Barack Obama today deflected reporters from questions about the growing controversy surrounding religious organizations having to provide contraception to their employees.
As MSNBC's Chris Matthews reported on Hardball moments ago, the President stonewalled reporters saying, "Come on, guys" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let’s talk about this thing that’s developed. Even at a photo-op with the Italian Prime Minister late this afternoon, President Obama couldn’t escape questions about this contraceptive issue and religious organizations. Let’s listen to what happened.

UNIDENTIFIED REPORTER: Is there anything on the contraception controversy that you can share with us?
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA: Thank you, guys. Come on, guys.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
MATTHEWS: [Laughing] Come on, guys? Come on, guys?

Actually he said “I cum on guys” when asked about contraception.
He's going to lose Catholic votes over this. I don't know how many. Many of the Catholics who are the most upset and angry (note: I didn't say "surprised") are like me. We know who and what Obozo is, and hell would freeze over before we'd vote for him.
Here’s what I think is going on with this. Notice this whole controversy is happening right on the heels of the Komen kerfluffle? Obama knows that he is infuriating the conservatives, but he doesn’t care about them and he never has. What’s important is that he is getting the feminist left in a tizzy about evil Republicans and Christians trying to squash their “reproductive freedoms”.
It’s just his strategy for re-election, and I’ll think we’ll see him and his surrogates instigating these crises over all his target demographics’ key issues up until election day. That way, he hopes to drive up turnout high enough to make up for all the disenchanted voters he has lost.
