Liked the show a lot in the early seasons but it has gone off the rails the last year or two.

Yep, started out as an interesting series with the kooky Doctor. Ended up after a couple of seasons as a Kooky Doctor that would never change and so predictable. Really after a few years, he would not either mellow or get more bizarre. Oh well, like other here (probably), I tired of the same old thing and quit watching.

No loss for me anyway...

I preferred laurie as Wooster, but then I’m a die-hard Wodehouse fan!

I would agree that it peaked in the spring of 2010. The last five episodes have been marginal....not worth watching.

Lost interest in it the last few years. Been hooked on watching Storage Wars, Gold Rush, Auction Hunters, etc.

Yeah. X Files and Fringe. But Fringe has been catering to the globull warming community the last couple seasons.
Wish they bring back 24.

Dr. House is a egotistical, manipulative ba...rd. Would you want to work for him, partner with him, or worse yet, be his friend?

As for the cases, every week pretty much the same:

Patient comes in with mystery illness.
minion Dr. #1 it must be A.
minion Dr. #2 it must be B.
minion Dr. #3 no, you're both wrong, it must be C.

House: I agree with #2, start treatment for B.

Minion Dr. 1: The treatment for B is not working, it is making the patient worse.

House: You;re right, it bad, must have been C instead. Treat for C.

Minion Dr. 2: The treatment for C is not working, it is making the patient worse.

House: Oh, my how can that possible be? It must be D instead. Start treatment for D.

Minion Dr. 3: Starting treatment for D in 5.....4....3.....2...

House: STOP! We're now 54 minutes into the program, we don't have any more time for wrong guesses. If we do D it will kill the patient. Treat for E instead.

Minion Dr. 1: House, you did it, the patient will live, yea us.

He WAS quirky and funny...almost believable.

Now he is cranky, sad and totally unreal. No way he could practice medicine like that anywhere...The show has become a dark charicature of itself.

spot on....AND at that 54th minute, someone (mom, wilson, the janitor) says something innocuous which sparks House to realize Option E must be the answer...which was there the entire time.

also, i found it increasingly frustrating that ALL minion docs were specialists on every freakin' diagnostic/treatment machine AND could have the pt on/under/in said freakin' machine within 4 minutes every time.

Yeah the repetitive plot pretty much killed it for me early on too.

Here is another vote for X Files as the most creative writing though. Winner Comedy divison?- Big Bang Theory

Exactly, watching House is like watching the NBA. Tune in for the last 5 minutes and you discover you haven’t missed anything.

IMHO it was the best show on for many years....

....then it went stale...and it went nutty trying to combat staleness

my newest favorite show is JUSTIFIED. Timothy Olyphant is excellent as Elmore Leonards modern day/old west US Marshall.
