Uh, Romney was the most conservative of the viable Republican candidates in 2008.
My choice was Allen Keyes, but he was a nonstarter for organizational reasons. Ideologically, I was more closely aligned with him than with any other candidate.
I voted for Romney in the NH primary in 2008, because McCain was ANATHEMA to me. He still is.
I voted for Santorum in the NH primary this year, because he was the candidate most closely aligned to my own ideology, about 85%.
I don’t trust Newt.
I’ll vote for him if he gets the nomination, but I don’t trust him.

If Newt ends up being the best anti-Mitt option, I'm cool with that.
But why do you want to rip down Santorum?
Santorum has a long history of doing what is politically expedient for himself. Do you think for one minute that if it comes down to it he will reject being Romney's VP.
Oh anyone who thinks they can make Santorum smell like a perfumed rose ignores history at their own peril. All the Newt bashing about preventing that old gutter snipe Clinton from being thrown out of office, drink willingly kool-aid.
I understand you are passionate about Newt Gingrich.
I, like you, cannot stomach Romney. I watched the Romney dirt bags destroy Palin during the 2008 election. Ex-Romney campaign workers destroyed the McCain/Palin campaign.
Newt shouldn’t have gotten in the dirt with the Romney pig. Newt should have stayed on message and ignored Romney.
With that said, don’t go after Santorum with accusations that can’t be proven. Santorum may be the only hope we have to rid ourselves of Obama.
Newt is chasing his tail now because he was knocked off the rails by a low life. Romney may go after the entire party next. Stay alert and don’t play into the fraud’s game.
Think about it.
Frankly I’m starting to think we have a lot of Romney trolls who are doing all they can to destroy Santorum because all they’re doing is helping Romney.
Ditto to everything you said. Santorum is the first candidate I’ve heard lay it on the line about our freedom being at stake in this election.
This is not some high school prom election, calling names like “little Ricky” is childish. It really is all on the line in November. We’d better get in the game before it’s too late.
I’ve been on the Newt bandwagon for a while and I hate to be fickle, but Santorum has pulled off a major miracle this week. I’m thinking of jumping ship. If Santorum could just lose the sweater vest for a leather flight jacket, then he’s got my vote.

Splitting the vote? LOL. Splitting it from whom? Aside from the single state Mr. Gingrich won when everyone piled on and said, “Vote for Newt or the race is over,” everything that Santorum has lost has gone to Romney.
You also demonstrate why having either Gingrich or Santorum drop out right now is a bad idea. There are too many in either camp that will not, at present, support the other. They announced they are both staying in, and hinted at a deal. Or did you know that?
Mitt ran a more conservative campaign in 2008 than he is this year. He also was the only conceivable alternative to McCain. I voted for him in the TX presidential primary 4 years ago. I’ll vote for Santorum this year.

I love this jealousy going on around here. I am laughing so much. These people are off their rocker. Santorum is a phenominal candidate and I can’t wait to have a moral principle Christian with Character President Santorum.
Santorum endorsed Romney because he knew up close and personal what a duplicitous pr5ck McCain actually is. I find that admirable and am amazed that opposing McCain is looked at as some kind of bad thing.

Santorum has won more contests than Gingrich and is the one who started winning the contests, not Gingrich. It’s absurd to say Santorum is “splitting the vote.”
This is the same garbage being recycled over again - before some of the militant Rick Perry supporters were bashing Herman Cain with the same exact accusations which were just as nonsensical.
