Alyssa Bustamante
A Missouri teenager who told authorities she wanted to know what it felt like to kill pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder, telling a judge that she strangled a 9-year-old neighbor with her hands, stabbed her in the chest and cut her throat with a knife.
Alyssa Bustamante pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the Oct. 21, 2009, killing of Elizabeth Olten in St. Martins, a rural town just west of Jefferson City.

Cole County Circuit Judge Patricia Joyce then asked Bustamante to describe what she did.
I strangled her and stabbed her in the chest. Bustamante said in a clear voice, looking straight at the judge.
Did you cut her throat too? the judge asked.
Yes, Bustamante responded.
9-year-old Elizabeth Olten - Cole County Sheriff's Department
Bustamante, who is to turn age 18 on Jan. 28, was 15 at the time of the slaying and lived just a few homes down the road from Elizabeth. She told the judge Tuesday that she knew what she was doing when she strangled Elizabeth with her hands and used a knife to attack her. Upon hearing that confession, Elizabeths mother Patty Preiss who was sitting in the courtroom just a few feet away took a deep breath and dabbed her eyes with a tissue. The childs mother was there to hear that
thats gotta be a rough one for a parent to hear. This whole thing is senseless. If it were my child, I dont know if I would ever got over something like this. Preiss wore a purple shirt with her daughters picture and the words Justice for Elizabeth. She left the courthouse without talking to the media.

Who gives a damn what this nutty little bitchs story was? She stalked a child and tortured and killed her for her own amusement! 10 -30 years, to life with possibility of parole? Does anyone believe shes going to be any better in another 10 years or so? What happens to animals who are locked in a cage with other animals for a decade or so? Do they come out into society any better? or do they reoffend?
No mention of where the girls mom and dad were, only mention of grandma being the legal guardian. This just reinforces my point, that parents play a crucial role in guiding these little screwheads into adult hood. YOU HAVE TO BE THERE! If you made the little killer, you have to raise her as well.
On Prozac. Nearly every one of these heinous are committed by children on prescribed drugs. Just another form of child abuse.
It’s time for the teen to see what torture feels like, right before her death.
On Prozac. Nearly every one of these heinous *crimes* are committed by children on prescribed drugs. Just another form of child abuse.
Sadly, I’m not sure if there’s any redemption for this girl, but I’m not a psychiatrist. Perhaps if someone brought some faith into her life, but apparently there is no one to do it.
In a sick, bizarre way, it’s almost like she was crying out for attention.
Prayers for the little girl who is gone, and for her family.
Satanic.
The killer was taught throughout her public school education that she, and her victim, are nothing more than “evolved goo”,
so what’s the big deal with killing evolved goo?
Ideas have consequences. Worldviews have consequences. Assumptions of origins have consequences.
I submit that her parents were mentally ill, possibly through drug use - but what I have noticed is that like animals - when inferior specimens reproduce, the result often has the worst traits of both parents.
We are going to see more and more of this. Smart adults (Doctors, engineers, scientists, chemists, biologists, ect) are marrying later, and having fewer children. Stupid, irresponsible and mentally dysfunctional people are reproducing like flies. In days past; the successful people has large families - they could care and provide for these people. Less successful people may have had many offspring, but their inability to provide for them, meant that fewer survived. As in everything else in the world - survival of the fittest is the rule.
Today, we have programs in place that ensure that the least 'fit' people are cared for, in fact to the extreme that many on the gov't dole have more disposable income, than working families have. Thus, we are seeing the productive members of society intentionally restraining themselves from having large families - to concentrate on a quality of life for themselves. This is just a symptom of a much larger problem.
Another Aileen Wuornos. Expect Hollywood to make a movie celebrating her life story then throw each other awards on Oscar night like some sort of sick satanic celebration.
that is baloney
if heinous kids are on antidepressants it is because it is a desperate attempt to treat them for major issues that emerged before the “prozac” was prescribed
sometimes it doesn’t work, sometimes it backfires, but you cannot blame “prozac” for sociopathy nor accuse parents of children on prescribed psychiatric medications of child abuse
my bet is you have never lived with diagnosed bipolarity, depression, or worse
Dead eyes.
it sounds like the monster’s little sister is lucky to be alive.
The monster dug two graves, and then sent her sister to invite Elizabeth to play.
In her confession she kept using the plural...she killed “them”.
she must’ve been planning on killing two, then spared her sister.
even “normal” bright high achieving loving parents are producing more and more kids with autism-type disorders, clinical attention deficit, premature puberty etc
something is going on in the food chain or the environment and we the sheeple are not being told the truth
not to mention that all the popular media, music, TV and cultural influence on our kids is a SEWER. That disturbed kid could watch 100 graphic murders a day on prime time family TV and katy bar the door if she had an unmonitored computer

Fortunately, the voice of conscience and/or the fear of punishment poses enough of an obstacle to a darkened intellect to prevent horrific actions like this, in most cases.
My teenage influences were TV, school, Sunday church, and rock music. My heroes were Jesus AND Mick Jagger. My mind was so conflicted, that it was difficult for me to act with ANY purpose, so, like so many confused kids, I went with the flow. But I lived with psychic anguish that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
I spent my twenties (unknowingly) searching for the truth. By a long and circuitous route, thanks be to God, I found the perennial philosophy of St. Thomas.
Hence the screen name.
There should be an automatic “kick in” clause that when any child is convicted of murder, the adults in charge of their care are automatically brought in for questioning about the parenting or “custodial” care of the child.
In an America not upside down, the public ought to see what it is like when Alyssa Bustamante gets the needle.
Kinda reminds me of this case:

I bet we will read about her years down the road after she commits a heinous crime following her early parole.
She should receive the same treatment her community would provide to a rabid dog which was running loose in a populated area.
