Whenever I hear “fair” or “fairness”, like you, I know I’m dealing with a Marxist, or a “soft” communist.
What I like to do, though, is make the sheeperal I’m talking to actually define the terms, and get past the “I feel good about myself for advocating this”.
“What exactly do you mean by ‘fairness’, and how do you propose we implement this vision of ‘fairness’? Do you intend to use violence against those who have a different opinion of what ‘fair’ is in order to implement YOUR opinion over theirs?”
Once we get to the “V” word, most sheeperals cringe into their socks. After all, the whole reason to advocate “fairness” is because “I’m a good person”, and a “good person” would never advocate that violence be used to impose their will on another person.
