If the GOP is stupid enough to nominate Obomney — and it appears it is — then not only will the GOP be finished, but so will the United States.

Someone once said that all great empires or nations eventually commit suicide.

Staying home and not voting, thereby allowing the Democrat to win, only reinforces the idea that Republicans need to be more like Democrats to win......(they don’t get that Republicans need to be Big C “Conservative” to win)

It never made sense to me. In the bizarro conservative political world, a loss is just as good as a win if you lose for the right reason.

In reality, you're just a loser in a very, very high stakes game.

The "GOP" doesn't have much choice in the matter. The voters pick the nominee from the few that have the resources, organization, and background to run effective campaigns. If Romney gets it, it will be our fault, not the GOP's.

If you don't have the votes to get your choice nominated, too bad; but put the blame where it belongs.

Once upon a time, we had a strong speaker. His name was Newt, and look what happened to him.

Good point. Republicans are too accustomed to eating their own and letting the left manipulate them into eating their own. This is only one of the reasons that, in all good conscience, I can no longer consider myself a Republican and have jumped onto the Tea Party bandwagon.

I am tired of a political party that is so dumb, inept and spineless that they are embarrassing to REAL dumb, inept and spineless people!!!

I don’t know if I’ll be living in this country in eight years, but if I am, I will never vote Republican again. If conservatives don’t have the survival sense to ditch these circular backstabbers by that point, I’ll bail water in a 3rd party lifeboat before I join the captains of G.O.P. Titanic on another iceberg hunt.

Re your post 11, is it not conceivable that many conservatives are going to do what I plan, i.e., if Romney is the GOP nominee, I’m going to pass over the presidential nominees and vote Republican for all the other races.

Despite my hatred for Obama, I cannot find it in me to vote for Romney, whom I equally detest.

If the American people have not yet figured out what has been done to them over the last three years and vote for Obama, then they deserve what follows in 2013-2016.

Oh, by the way, the verb is “loses” not “looses.” The latter relates to the easing of something, as in “I have a loose button on my shirt.”

You did get “loser” right.

The election will be decided on pocketbook politics - REMEMBER, “Its the eonomy STUPID?”

As of May 2012 [as reported by ABC], gas prices are LIKELY to go north of $4.50 in MANY areas ...

AND, ABC reports, for EVERY 10-cent increase in a gallon of gas, the public spends [correspondingly] $9 Billion LESS in the economy ...

EVERYTHING we consume [just about] is tagged to the price of gas - milk, eggs, bread. And even pizza delivery ...

Not to mention a slow down in hiring [IF the job market is INDEED recovwering] ...

There is no substance to this assertion. EVERY indicator shows just the opposite. It is a psy-ops piece. We will see articles like this right up until November. They said similar things during 2010.

Maybe the article is true. Their chance of retaking the house could have improved from about 2% to 2.2%

Regarding your last sentence, which I presume is written in jest. I think it is, but if not, then a spelling correction here and there is not going to improve your written communication skills.

As to the “loose and lose” bit, it has nothing to do with the nature of my life and everything to do with being bothered by ignorance of the English language.

If I could, I would lend to you my arthritic fingers, the same fingers with which I have written seven novels and two non-fiction works, one of which you can access on the Internet regarding stem cells, cloning, and abortion. Perhaps you feel you could improve my output using your fingers, fingers which obviously never miss a key when you’re superior mind is racing?
