'Does Axelrod Poll For ABC?'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Joe Scarborough had a jocular way this morning of pointing out the pro-Dem bias in ABC/Washington Post polls.

On Morning Joe, after Mark Halperin cited a new poll from the conglomerate with many findings favorable to President Obama, Scarborough facetiously asked "does Axelrod poll for ABC?"

ABC/Washington Post polls consistently put their fat left thumbs on the scale for Dems. Ping to Today show list.

No, Axelrod does not poll for the Washinbgton Post; what a ridiculous idea. He does ghost write their political articles, but that is far different from the scientific techniques needed to “accurately” poll by overweighting the Democratic party affiliation of those polled.

The media has long contributed to the DNC by doing their polling for them. The process is well known.

1. Determine (probably by asking) what the Dems want to have polled.

2. Do the polling.

3. Hand poll over to DNC.

4. If it can be used to paint Dems in favorable light (and they always skew a couple of questions in the poll to do so) then they create a news story out of it.

5. They may ask 20 questions and only publicly release one of them. The rest are just given to the DNC.

Rule of thumb: NEVER trust an ABC poll.

Simple.

They watch all of us, by reading the blogs, study the emails and set their polling questions to get the responses they are needing. When I get a call for a survey, many times, if I don't go in the direction they they want me to, they end the call.

A national poll costs a heck of a lot of money and they give the results away for nothing. Ever wonder why?

ABC might be favoring dems in its polls, but even Ras has shown an upward surge in support for boy zer0. Though many have rightly panned his SOTU as a warmed over laundry list, it sounds to me like Americans like the idea of more government freebies and largesse coming their way.
