NOW listen to the 22 minute Press Conference the GOP Establishment is panning as Newt's "Speech."

Newt Gingrich is giving the facts and the MSM (who can't control Mitt's incompetence and penchant for lying) are the ones who have started WHINING, MAKING EXCUSES AND HURLING ACCUSATIONS to protect their candidate, Mitt.

“and ends up as Richard Nixon not going to get kicked around any more. “

And then Nixon went on to win the Presidency.

Why would Newt concede anything, if he’s willing to fight on?

Well, I’m definitely supporting Newt over Romney but here lately, my man Newt has come across as a tired, angry, desperate old man. RINO-Rom comes across as fiery, fresh and friendly. I wish to goodness Newt would get a grip. He’s hurting himself.

Why are people surprised when NOOT acts like NOOT.
No I am not a Romney supporter or Paul.
If we wind up with Romney I will vote for him as I did in 2008 for Yosimity Sam.
My favorite left in the race is Rick: Rick has only two chances.
Very Slim and NONE.
We can't afford another 4 with the lop eared community organizer running the show, with what we have to choose from we just might wind up with another 4 with ZERO. . . . . .

VDH is sorta right here.

Newt just needs to stick to issues and inspiration. It’s what he’s good at. When you explain why you lost, even if what you’re saying is technically correct, it just comes across as whining, and makes people focus on the loss, instead of preparing for future victories.

Also, when you lay out detailed reasons why you lost, and try to demonstrate particulars in your argument, the simple fact of the matter is, a lot of people are simply not intelligent enough to follow the argument. To a stupid person, a complex argument is easily confused for making excuses or trying to obfuscate an issue.

When did Victor Davis Hanson become part of the MSM?

Your support for Perry was unrelentingly positive. Your new style certainly is not.

Looks like Newt critics are here rather than Newt supporters.

Some will SAY they support Newt but end up critics.

I watched the Presser and thought it reasonable, factually sound and forward looking.

But what do I know...I’m just a lowly former Rick Perry supporter.

Who (Perry), by the way, endorsed Newt and has vowed to help him.

My suspicions are aroused when people SOUND like the LSM while identifying as Conservatives and Romney opponents.

..., Gingrich is becoming a caricature of petulance: no concession in Nevada, no call to Romney, no awareness that his inability to raise money at levels of a political rival or to match a competing campaign organization is not necessarily unfair. That’s politics...

What tripe. Making a concession call once the opponent has been chosen is one thing, they seem to think that Generals on the battlefield should pat each other on the back for individual battles when the war continues as they try to take each other out. I guess they also think that Mitt's ties to lots of money somehow makes him superior. God help us.

2008 & 2012 The MSM knocks whoever is the greatest danger to their person.

It worked in 2008 and appears to be working in 2012 at this time.

The writer of this article obviously didn’t see Willard’s
“concession” speech after Gingrich CRUSHED him in SC. Willard said that Gingrich was part of the Washington establishment and only Willard could go in and shake things up. He mentioned character and morals and blah, blah, blah.
He then goes on national TV and has the nerve to say that Gingrich had outspend him in SC and most of the negative ads run in the state were ran by Gingrich against him. Did Faux News call him a the liar that he is, absolutely not. The establishment darling, the ultra New England liberal Romney, is delusional. He has yet to win in a state where there is a level playing field. If the race were on-on-one, Newt Gingrich would be crushing him. And that’s a fac. One more thing, apparently Mormans and blacks do have something in common. If not, please tell me the reason that baby killing, pro-homo marriage-loving Obama gets about 95% of the black vote and Willard the liberal, another pro-abortion, pro-homo-marriage liberal, gets about 95% of the Morman vote. Can you imagine Santorum, Gingrich or any other Catholic candidate getting 95% of the Catholic vote???? Something to think about.

I'm with Newt. I think Willard should stop lying too. His operatives trashed conservatives like Fred Thompson and Sarah Palin back in 2008. He's never been a friend to conservatives and he's really been stinking things up for a very long time.

First, this ain't over by a long shot!

Second, Nevada (and my home state of Utah) are heavily Mormon. This usually conservative voting block will cast away all common sense and vote for “one of their own.” Case in point are my LDS neighbors. These are very conservative folks, but in our conversations make excuse, after excuse for Romney's stands on the issues. They even laud the fact that he never disowned Romneycare. My guess is, Newt will pick up steam in the states that don't have a high LDS voting base.

What I find most disturbing, is that most LDS suffer from “victim syndrome” and would be appalled if someone chose NOT to vote for Romney because he WAS LDS. This hypocrisy is breathtaking. Oh, and to those drinking the media Kool-aid dumping on Newt for this that and the other; my guess is you wouldn't have lasted a day in his shoes. If you can do better, step away from the keyboard and run. I mean, afterall you seem to know exactly what he and others should do.

Romney got beat in 2008 because he had a pro-mccain BINO (Baptist In Name Only) who hated Romney because he’s a mormon. That and mccain had his friends in the media like Romney does now. But Romney does not have a huckster against him this time.

One thing you must agree is this is a veritable roller coaster, this 2012 primary fiasco. Whereas just a few months ago, Newt Gingrich was written off as done, finished, kaput! (and about 80% of Free Republic cheered it on and said things like "Get out of here, Newt!") and he also had a similiar setback when his whole campaign team resigned, a mere three weeks ago the press heralded him as a dramatic front runner with a stunning win in South Carolina. I have the newspapers saved. FReerepublic by and large was ebullient and pumped up. For sure this man was going to win, was going to clean Romney's clock. Now Newt appears to be sinking again, it is a serious situation where he could be outpaced by Romney and sidelined for good, maybe even Santorum would emerge as the conservative final hope to finish off Romney, then again, Newt Gingrich could resurrect again and be in the lead, with Romney licking his wounds either over something stupid he said, or a poor debate performance, then again Santorum could run out of money -- or he could hit a series of dramatic home runs in debates and pick up even more conservative endorsements like he has been getting of late (and leading in Missouri, a not too shabby state).

I am not willing to rule anything in or out. In my opinion, the nominee of this party could be either Santorum, Gingrich or Romney at this point. I discount Paul. And finally, the nominee may in fact be none of those three men. It is crazy and expect Gingrich to be on top again, then vanquished again, then again re-emergent. It is volatile and highly possible. I still work and hold out hope that my choice, Rick Santorum, will be the nominee as my own comprehensive issues/voting record/personal morals/likability/fidelity scorecard on him vs. the other three has him in the top slot (and how my political enemies, the progressives, seem to truly loathe and ridicule Santorum the most, especially the anti-life and anti-marriage lavender mafia lobby). He was never my initial first choice of all the candidates that entered the race. I had it down to him, Bachmann or Cain, and on the whole for a variety of reasons, went with Cain as I saw him highly effective and gained intelligence that the Obots were scared to death of him. (They fixed THAT didn't they!!?) Your mileage of course might vary. I think perhaps our only common ground is we want neither Romney nor Paul to gain the nomination, and we so want Obama to be rendered a single term, with a sweep of the House and the Senate to reverse the train of our Republic before it goes over the cliff and into the abyss of irreversible Socialism.

... a rare disagreement with VDH

I haven't seen this much hatred by the press since Nixon

Newt understands that there may never be peace with his own party establishment and there will never be peace with the MSM

As a historian, he grasps the possible fatal results if Romney wins the nomination. Other civilizations died of weakness and compromise--I am surprised VDH did not come to the same conclusion...
