Campaign finance documents show that Massachusetts Republican Sen. Scott Brown's re-election campaign has paid his daughter Ayla Brown $9,500 for performing at three campaign events. The three paid events, listed as payments to Ambient Entertainment LLC, go back to December 2010 and include a pair of Christmas parties. Ayla Brown is a former "American Idol" contestant whose band has performed at several events with her father, going back to his first 2010 U.S. Senate campaign to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy.

She is a professional singer. She has to perform for free to satisfy acolytes of multi-millionaire Elizabeth Warren?
Are either of the words 'had' or 'was' taboo or something?'' |
I’ll start to get concerned as soon as the RATS start questioning Moochelle about her jaunt to Spain with a few hundred “close friends,” staff, and SS personnel.
Ahh yes, Ayla Brown.. I remember her from the season that produced Taylor Hicks, Daughtry, Katharine Mcphee and Kellie Pickler.
She almost made the top 12 by a hair. Losing by a few votes.
No foul here. Candidates have a lot of flexibility in use of campaign funds, and if anyone thinks this is a first, think again. Many Rs and Ds employ family members (Bay Buchanan and numerous Kennedy spawn come to mind).

As Brown said in an interview, the campaign didn’t pay for just Ayla but also her band members and pretty much had to due to campaign financing rules.
There were plenty of warnings to look at his record, before crowning him savior of the Republican party. Pretty darn liberal. I am ashamed the party was suckered in to electing him. Clearly a corrupto-crat. A clear warning of to critically examine any conservative, especially a Massachusetts conservative.
Definitely underpaid, the kid can sing.
At least she sang for her money, how many family member of how many politicians are carried on the books and do nothing.
I have no problem with this at all. He’s gettig her for cheap at that price, since she’s actually got some chops. And if I remember correctly, our beloved Palin family took a nice long family vacation last year using her PAC money, all legal under the law.
The only thing I have a problem with are Scott Brown’s votes...
While frankly I would have thought she’d have been glad to donate her performance to her dad’s road show, still this is technically kosher if it was in the ballpark of what she would get for a normal stage performance. It’s a flea bite affair compared to Scott’s disturbingly lax attitude towards more important issues like abortion (I know I know, the Rat alternative would be far worse, and sometimes we have to hold our noses and vote for the half-bad alternative to a wholly-bad contender).
No big deal. My gosh I am sure that the Romney boys are being paid six figure salaries. Although Gingrich daughter’s are not singing, you can bet they are being paid for helping their dad. I don’t believe Paul is paying his son (he has a job anyway). Santorum’s kids are too young, but you can bet if they were over 18, he would be paying his kids too. I don’t have a single problem with this at all. Now if he would just start voting completely conservative every single vote, I would be really happy with him.
I just got a “give me money” from his campaign. I plan to send 2 cent, in money order form (yes the mo costs more, hence my sending it) and give him my 2 cent worth.
Is she so bad she had to pay people to listen?
Heaven forbid a musician should actually get paid for his/her work! Glad some people understand. ;>)
Yes she can!

To get any Republican at all into the long Kennedy warmed Massachusetts’ people’s seat, was a moderate miracle. Liberals are perfectly content with incremental winbacks because they know where they eventually go. Scott Brown is a stepping stone, not a destination. Scott Brown would not have been countenanced out of a less liberal state having more and better GOP choices.
I remember her now!
I was pulling for her to win and felt she should have!
Didn’t remember her being Scott Brown’s daughter though.
I’m still on Scott’s bandwagon - it’s either that or let Elizabeth Warren replace him.
