At least our military doesn’t require a power grid to operate. Iran will be a smoking hole in the ground with the first use of nuclear weapons.
Much of our military isn’t “hardened” against an EMP attack.
And either way, we're not protected.
I see this as a civil defense issue that is within the pervue of congress to regulate, and they have chosen not to.
I personally think when it was brought up, their eyes glazed over and it went to comittees and study groups that died on the vine. They ain't too bright.

According to the 2004 Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States of EMP Attack (Executive Report), “Several potential adversaries have or can acquire the capability to attack the United States with a high-altitude nuclear weapon-generated electromagnetic pulse (EMP). A determined adversary can achieve an EMP attack capability without having a high level of sophistication.”
It goes on to briefly address the effects, “EMP is one of a small number of threats that can hold our society at risk of catastrophic consequences. EMP will cover the wide geographic region within line of sight to the nuclear weapon. It has the capability to produce significant damage to critical infrastructures and thus to the very fabric of US society…” The Commission’s chairman has testified that within one year of such an attack, 70% – 90% of Americans would be dead from such causes as disease and violence. It is also highly plausible that many Americans would die of starvation due to the interruption of the national food supply.
According to the Washington Department of Health, Office of Radiation Protection, “A 1.4 Megaton bomb launched about 250 miles above Kansas would destroy most of the electronics that were not protected in the entire Continental United States.”

First of all, the United States is currently under divine judgment and has been since 9/11. As a nation, we have done absolutely nothing to repent of our national rebellion against God and turn back to Him and, as a nation, ask His forgiveness and elect into office God-fearing men and women who will steer this nation back into one which fears and respects the God of Israel and obeys Him and His commandments and principles. This nation knowingly and deliberately spits in God's face and celebrates sin and perverts the law to protect every abomination that is offensive to God - the same choices that have brought judgment and destruction to nations in history who similarly shook their collective fists in the face of God.
And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, 29 being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; 32 and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. God has turned America over to our sin and rebellion, and we will pay the same price as every other civilization that chose to reject God in favor of perversion and sin.
This nation is in line to be destroyed completely and I believe that will happen right after the Rapture. As in the case of Noah and Lot, God will remove His own from the scene before He destroys those who refuse to accept Him and subject their lives to Him and who choose to live their lives in rebellion against Him. This nation will be destroyed, but it will not happen while those who still honor and worship and fear Jehovah God are still alive and residing in the nation which God will destroy. And, as in the distant past, God can and may use evil men to carry out His judgment on our nation.
Second, there is increasing belief among prophecy scholars that an attack on Iran by Israel will provoke the Psalm 83 war which Israel will decisively win and which will put her in the position of "security" that Israel will be in when the Ezekiel 38/39 campaign takes place. Although an attack on Iran by Israel is not prophesied in the Bible, God never tells us exactly how the Psalm 83 war, which is further described in Ezekiel 35, will start.
Only time will tell if Israel goes through with an attack on Iran, but the possibilities of ramifications that will result are very concerning.
