Susan G. Koman for the Cure has reversed its decision to end grants to Planned Parenthood after twenty-two Democratic senators sent a letter to the group's founder and CEO urging it to reconsider the decision

Now it is up to donors. Namely, the donors need to stop sending money to Komen.
Komen is a pretty liberal organization so it is not surprising to see them stay with Planned Parenthood.
The only way to fight liberalism is to starve it to death.
I'd cancel the check.
I strongly disliked Komen - principally, their strong arming of donations at work, and incessant promotions. They had replaced "United Way" as my least favorite charity.
Then, yesterday, I said, "Hmmm. Nice to see them respond to the concerns of their donors. Maybe they're worth a second look".
Guess not. I'm composing a letter to them, with these very points. Will see what happens. Most likely, I'll feel better, and Komen will email a canned response.
Those were the first words out of my wife's mouth this morning upon hearing of Komen's cowardice and perfidy.
But now, all of the country can know Komen for what they are.
I also shun any product with the word "Green" on it.
The Earth-Goddess-Worshipping environmentalists have always been in the same camp with the abortionists.
-—Now all the donations they got from pro-lifers will go to fund abortions.-—
But the effort was not in vain. Now this Komen organization is known as a duplicitous, pro-abortion group.
The mask is off.
-—As far as Im concerned, all these cure organizations are scams.
At least in the following sense. When you pay for research, you get... research.
When you offer a reward for a cure, you get.... cures.
Can you imagine if wanted posters offered money to people to look for the bad guy?
Hardly surprising. Yesterday I said it’s real easy to just make a statement saying you’d quit, and whether they actually did was a totally different issue.
They are. There are many good people working for them, but they aren’t in on the scam.
It’s mainly about guilting people into donations, to propagate the group’s existence, turn them into ‘experts’ to raise their profile and power, and throw money over to certain research scientists so that it will never be used to ever make a cure.
For example the people researching natural anti-cancer compounds are not being funded by any of these ‘cure’ groups. You can’t patent natural substances. They do know they could patent pills and solutions of natural substances that are enhanced and compressed and released in patented special delivery systems (time released, etc), but they don’t want to touch natural compounds.
“And this is why the left is successful. Throwing tempertantrums still works”.
Yes.... however only when the media supports what you are tantrumming about!
Think about it. If a “cure” ever is found, these people’s livelihood goes away. You really think all these people want to see themselves out of work? Seriously?
Democrat thugs to Komen...nice little charity you have here....
This is another blatant example of Democrat extortion.
They’ve been giving money to PP for years, and you were considering giving money to them just because they say they were going to stop giving to PP not because they are opposed to abortion, but because PP is under investigation by Congress, and they don’t give money to groups under investigation?
They made no change in their beliefs, just were considering suspending donations because the group was under investigation, no change of heart ever entered into the picture.
Fighting cancer, like fighting crime, is a big business....
geez, people.
For all you folks who are disappointed you can’t donate now, you were duped. They never changed their mind on abortion, it’s because they have a policy not to give money to groups under investigation, as PP is now (by Congress).
You really want to help? Don’t throw money at some huge group. Go and volunteer some time reading to kids with cancer. Help someone you know with cancer. Even do some errands for them, pick something up for them. It’s far more satisfying and real to directly help than just to chuck your money at a faceless huge group. You will give more help that way, far more than just sending moeny to others to spend how they want.
Man, stop putting the charity on others to do. Do it yourself. You’ll get more back and you’ll make a real difference right where you live. Geez.
And apparently so is big abortion.
Looks like they didn’t know their own organization. How many of their own local groups denounced them? How many of their own professional experts disagreed with them? Regardless of whether or not it was the right decision, this will go down as a textbook case of how not to prepare an organization for a potentially controversial change. A dozen or so phone calls asking “do you think this is a good idea” would have saved them a lot pain.
So what made them flip?
Was it a threat from the dems of an audit and congressional investigation?
Threats of personal destruction?
