Komen for the Cure just released the following statement from Nancy Brinker and the Susan G. Komen Board of Directors:
We want to apologize to the American public for recent decisions that cast doubt upon our commitment to our mission of saving women's lives.
The events of this week have been deeply unsettling for our supporters, partners and friends and all of us at Susan G. Komen. We have been distressed at the presumption that the changes made to our funding criteria were done for political reasons or to specifically penalize Planned Parenthood. They were not.

I’d say that they’ve managed to wedge themselves between a rock and a hard place.
On the one hand, they have become known as more interested in supporting abortion than in ending breast cancer. On the other hand, they cannot afford to offend their base of politically correct, abortion-loving women.
Damned if they do, and damned if they don’t. A situation that they thoroughly deserve to be in. They put themselves there through their deliberate willingness to kill babies.
Both sides would have been glad to end breast cancer, but neither side will ever agree on the same policy toward abortions, now that they have mired themselves in the issue.
I was going to donate to Komen, but I was worried they’d back down. I’m glad I waited! They won’t get my money.
If Planned Parenthood is so sacred to (some) people that no one can dare question them, then indeed our country is in big, big trouble.
I regret to say, that with 50 million abortions and counting our culture is not so much further advanced than others as some people think. Some cultures teach their kids to become suicide bombers and mass murderers, and are proud of them when they do. Many in our culture destroy our unborn children when they are inconvenient to them. We are not nearly as grotesque as the suicide bombers, but our hands are not clean. We will all be judged, by the same Judge.
I’ve been a vocal opponent of Komen for a long time because of their funding of baby murder, and this just shows that they care more about their image than life. Every year when the 3 day walk rolls around that is all we hear about, along with the obligatory pictures of bald ladies in pink. I admire their courage, and support them in their fight against this horrible disease, but Komen will not ever get any money from me, especially not after showing this weakness.
Maybe we should organize a 3 day walk for the protection of the life for the unborn.
Glad I didn’t donate! I’d ask for my money back and demand it. I think Komen is done! They made themselves look like a bunch of idiots! All respect for this charity is over! I bet it falls apart.
They must invest money with people who murder in order to save lives. Didn’t ya know.
As I said, stuff like this makes a second American revolution all the more likely as time goes on, sadly.

By Women I guess they are ignoring baby girls. Those babies have to be old enough to donate before they will be concerned about them.

Isn’t it more than just abortion funding? I thought I read somewhere that PP was funneling SGK funds to Democrats?

I’m sure most of us can think of friends and family who have gone through this torture.
I have in mind a particular cousin who dove headfirst into her advocacy for Komen.
I felt guilty for withholding from her requests, but I simply will not contribute to a group that has ties to PP.
I almost donated this week. I will never donate to them now. Not ever!
I know I could come down with the disease just as easily as the next woman - but I will never give my support to these people.

Komen and Planned Parenthood conspired to punk Pro Lifers by claiming that Komen would defund Planned Parenthood thereby extracting donations to Komen from Pro-Lifers all of which will be given to Planned Parenthood so that they can murder babies.

Sounds like a possible class-action suit for a conservative lawyer, if Komen refused to give back money.

It is and their judgment will probably be swift. Here is the word for them.

Nearly 40 years ago, I worked for the Telephone Co., who demanded 100% “Voluntary” participation in payroll deduction contributions to the United Way. A United Way Pamphlet revealed that they gave money to PP. I refused to give unless I could designate my contribution to a different charity. The UW would not allow this, so I ended up not giving and was subjected to incredible pressure and abuse from my supervisor for harming his “numbers”. It was the beginning of the end for me in that job, as the persecution persisted until I finally quit.
I was not even a committed Christian back then, but I DID know that PP was in business to kill babies.
