I came home and was totally bummed by the results so far. I looked for anything on FR to cheer me up. Finally I succumbed and went to the former-other favorite website Drudge and begrudgingly clicked on the 'Landslide' article - blah blah blah and there, at the very bottom - I found my glimmer of hope: In a positive sign for Gingrich, exit polls showed evangelical voters trending for the former House speaker. The exit polls showed Gingrich with 40 percent among that group, and Romney with 36 percent.
But the margin was wider for Romney among seniors and Hispanics. Half of the seniors polled were supporting Romney, while 35 percent backed Gingrich. Romney also led Gingrich 56-29 percent among Hispanic voters, the largest minority in the state, exit polling showed.
Voters overwhelmingly went for Romney among those who said winning in November is the most important quality in a Republican nominee. But for voters who valued "true conservative" credentials as their top quality, Gingrich led with 46 percent, followed by Santorum at 26 percent and Paul at 16 percent. Among those voters, Romney was last with 11 percent.

Apparently this was an older conspiracy theory that had Dick Armey as the one who threatened to "out" Sandy Hume. But RECENTLY in some newspaper Susan Molinari added Newt to the story. Guess whose campaign Susan Molinari is an advisor on? Talk about dirty, stinking politics, this is IT!
FL is a CLOSED primary. GOP votes only, NO Independents.
I guess the two points if my post were this:
1. With all the lies Mittens told the past two weeks, it, to me, is a little bit encouraging that his ‘I’m the true conservative’ wasn’t believed like he and Coulter spouted.
2. I’m getting ticked about Rush always going off that Conservatism wins when it’s put up against liberalism but he’s not willing to take a stand for one of the more conservative candidates and is somewhat spotty or vasilating on ripping Romney’s liberal track record. Rush seems to be playing it both ways.
And he got the same number of delegates tonight that Newt did.
And he got the same number of delegates tonight that Newt did.
Wipe teh spittle off your chin and face reality, it can be refreshing.
Santorum is the present enemy.
13% says it all.
Wipe the propaganda pablum off your mouth - tomorrow you will be spoon fed some more. And then you will come back here to regurgitate it once more.
You're joking, right? Santorum won a race in which he spent an entire year in the state by 24 votes. He then basically tied Newt for 4th in New Hampshire. And now in two much larger states, Newt has beaten him by 20 points twice.
Tell me you're joking.
Hank
Tell me your joking that you are seriously a Newt supporter? Tell me you are serious..
Rush has gained more weight. and he seems agitated...
Could be about the country but seems to be something else going on too.
Let’s see if he conducts himself like the core Conservative he claims to be and calls Mittens out for being the sleazy anti Conservative that he is.
That is why your attitude has got to come across as if the accusations themselves are so inaccurate as to be laughable. The attacks themselves are a form of ridicule to ridicule them back, is needed, but you have to be likable doing it.
Truth should be enough of course, but it just isn't in politics. I think Newt needs to think about it, and come up with a different way to respond, and maybe some Reagan like quips to have ready. Maybe he needs to watch Some of the Reagan debates.LOL.
Perhaps we should form a consulting company...you are spot on, my friend.
Second, as he has said there is true hatred out there between Romney and Newt's supporters and I don't think he wants to make anyone mad. He is in a business and its goal is to get as many listeners as possible. I don't think that makes Rush a sell out at all. I love Rush and I think it is fine that he doesn't push one over another. We don't need that from anyone in the media including Rush. I prefer Rush telling it as he sees it. He has been brutal on Romney and likewise with Newt when appropriate. What more could we ask for?
As for my thoughts on who Rush voted for? FWIW, my guess is he voted for Santorum. He is the most conservative one running and Rush has always said to vote for the most conservative candidate.
LOL. Maybe. I started watching this spectacle that we call Presidential races when I was 13 - Nixon vs Kennedy. I haven’t heard a clear conservative message since Reagan.
Every time I get kinda down about the political situation I go on You Tube and watch the Gipper. Then I watch the bozo’s and wonder why they can’t learn a few things to help themselves. LOL
Romney is a member of a cult......not a Christian!
I’ve been a Newt supporter for YEARS. I was writing posts on this site promoting Newt over a year ago before he even announced when I was about the only one who would stand up for him.
Newt has done more for the conservative movement than the other candidates combined. If he did NOTHING but the ‘94 election and Contract with America that would be the case.
I like Santorum, but he has nowhere near the depth, intellect, eloquence or breadth of experience Newt has. Newt has many flaws but he has a prodigious intellect and loves his country. Santorum just isn’t in his league in terms of brainpower.
And NOW we hear that after his caterwauling during the debate about how Newt and Mitt shouldn’t campaign negatively...he’s buying ads....TRASHING NEWT!
Hank
**I will not vote for Romney, ever**
Me either!
Sandy was an alcoholic that fell off the wagon. After a bender he had a run in with the law and he offed himself.
If Gingrich had anything against him, it would be a grudge over spilling the beans on the attempted coup.
