...When Gingrich's bus pulled up, Dillard stood silently holding his sign and watched the news-media horde swamp the candidate. Gingrich stepped down from the bus and made a beeline for Dillard. He stopped in front of Dillard and his sign and parked himself for a round of handshaking and pictures with voters. The placement couldn't have been worse. There was Gingrich, standing with his wife Callista at their first event of the day, and a giant Ron Paul sign floated inches from their crowns.
Noticing the awkward optics, Gingrich aides and security personnel swarmed Dillard, trying to intimidate him into moving. One of Gingrich's security agents stepped in front of him. When Dillard didn't budge, the agent lifted his heeled shoe over Dillard's bare foot and dug the back of it into his skin, twisting it side-to-side like he was stomping out a cigarette. Shocked, Dillard kept his ground and took a picture of the agent with his phone, which was quickly knocked out of his hand. Dillard slipped off his flip-flop to pick up the phone with his foot, and a Gingrich supporter kicked the sandal away.
"Don't kick me!" Dillard said to the man who knocked away his sandal. More members of Gingrich's security retinue approached, shoving their shoulders and chests in front of him.
"Just block him!" a Gingrich campaign aide said. "Everyone step on his toes!"

Oh well, life on the campaign trail.
Don't step on my toes, bro!
>>When the candidate finished taking pictures with voters, furious Gingrich aides grilled Dillard. “If we did this to you, you guys would be furious,” said an aide before stomping back toward the bus. “They have no class. No class.”
As Gingrich pulled away, Dillard looked down at his foot. With the adrenaline pumping, he hadn’t noticed the pain, but now it was starting to sink in. A bruise was forming, and there was a cut mark where the security agent had dug in his heel.
Getting rough out there in the Sunshine State.
naw...newt and his people wouldnt do this...class acts they are
PS: I'll believe this when I see the video of the incident on youtube. In this day and age, if it wasn't caught on tape, it didn't happen.
Hard to believe Yahoo! news actually considered this newsworthy.
I agree alterPaulpots have no class, or brains.
So a paultard found the attention he was looking for...
But it gives me an excuse to trot out my “Don’t step on my toes, bro!” line!
A don’t tase me bro moment from D.C. (does say F word once)

How will Mitt Drudge report it? “Gingrich campaign kills opponent... feeds carcass to dogs.”
The punk found his moment. Imagine going to a RP rally with a Newt sign.
You got a problem with that? What tells you when someone has class? They LIE and deceive? RP is Castro’s man. You’ll get more than a bruise that can heal from that mindset!
Nobody would dispute that Gingrich has ambition.
Newt would be very wise to ensure this is the LAST time something like this happens.
The comments are already piling up at the original post’s website, many to the effect that this is what Newt would do to America. While I doubt Newt, off in his own little cloud, was aware of what happened until after it did, this did not generate good optics for him in Florida at a time he desperately needed it.
I don’t mind Newt stepping politically on opponents’ toes, but the kind of punkadocio described here really has no place.
Um, why was he barefooted? Only a fool (or an old hippie who hasn't yet grown up) goes into a crowd with bare feet.
My email:
I favor Newt, however I am extremely disappointed that his security team committed assault and battery on a Ron Paul supporter standing behind Newt at a campaign stop. The Paul supporters antics were wrong, but assault and battery from a conservative candidate’s security team is despicable and more characteristic of Soviet style thuggery than politics fitting our great republic. I hope Newt will publicly address this matter and fire the security people involved. I don’t not want to be associated with any politician that would give either direct or tacit approval to assault and battery, and I won’t vote for one who does. Again, this is very disappointing as I had high hopes for Newt. I hope he won’t prove my favor mistaken.
