So far, Mitt Romney has only won in states where he owns summer houses, like New Hampshire. --snip--So why does nearly every pundit and politician think that is the only electable candidate, the only one who can beat Obama?
The facts and evidence tell a different story.
Romney has never won a majority (50% or better) of Republican primary or caucus voters. And, two-thirds of the time, he has had to spend vast sums just to claim the number two spot.

Mitt fits in there with McCain and Dole in his non electability. Many of us scratched our heads when they were nominated to run for POTUS.
Romney is the ideal candidate for Obama. Unenthusiastic Republicans will stand down and not vote at all; the biased and vicious media will turn its attention to Romney. Why elect a Democrat-lite when you can elect a true socialist Democrat? What an easy choice!
.
No matter what, I WILL NOT vote for Romney. If he became, heaven forbid, the Republican nominee, he still will not get my vote. There are many others, here and elsewhere, in the rest of the country, who feel this way. I feel very safe in saying that a nomination of Willard is a guarantee of harm to the Republican party. I might even go so far as to say that, were he the nominee, I would not vote Republican for any position. Period. I cannot vote democrat, as a Catholic. That’s immutable. But if the establishment of the RNC wants to lose the 2012 election, and I mean BIG TIME, all they need to do is make Willard the candidate.
I posted this vanity last week: 'Mr. Electability?' SuperLoserMan Mitt not viable candidate...0-17 in 'road' races [Vanity]
When you total ALL of Romney's wide-open voter races (which discounts caucuses), he is 0-for-17 in races "on the road"...away from his home turf of...
...New England (where he lives...he attended Harvard)
...Michigan (where he grew up)
...and Mormon-laden Utah (he went to BYU and oversaw the Utah Winter Olympics)
In those road races...
* The South hasn't embraced Romney...he's lost South Carolina -- twice, and Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, and Tennessee rejected him last election cycle;
* The Midwest? Nope. They didn't want Mitt Romney, either, last cycle (Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma);
* Beyond Mormon Utah, a Romney "home field" advantage to the tune of receiving 94 percent of the Mormon vote, the West didn't want him in '08 (Arizona; New Mexico; California);
* Surely the East Coast would be "open arms" for a fellow East Coaster. Right? Wrong! In 2008, Connecticut, Delaware, New York, and New Jersey rejected Romney!
Mitt's even lost two races in New England! ('94 Senate race in MA; '08 primary in Maine!)
It’s gonna be tough in Florida (I’m from Florida) but I hope Newt pulls it off.
I’m with you on never voting for Willard, but I will vote down ticket. George Allen will certainly get my vote here in Virginia for Senator. I live in the People’s Republic of Northern Virginia, so my House vote will be a pebble in a DemocRAT tsunami, but I’ll vote for the GOP candidate.
"No matter what, I WILL NOT vote for Newt. If he became, heaven forbid, the Republican nominee, he still will not get my vote."
???
I'm a Paul supporter. I feel sure that Paul is the only one who can beat Obama. Newt and Santorum make me physically ill. Romney is a RINO. But I can assure you that, no matter who the Republican nominee is, I will vote for him.
Sadly, I fear Romney is more electable, but that is not a compliment to him but rather an indictment of the mentality of the voting public.
I thought the same thing yesterday!
Because that's what most polls have shown.
That is my strategy too and I’ll hold my nose and vote for Dr. KooKoo in the primary. I will not provide any financial or volunteerism support for Romney whatsoever.
would it be that Romney is 0 white
That’s what the left wing media who wants Obama reelected push polls say because they know that Obozo can easily defeat him.
Don’t be fooled in 2012? Then why would 2012 be different from 2008 or 2004 or 2000 or 1996 or 1992? The American people are among the easiest deceived on earth for some reason. Or are they deceived at all? Or are they merely actually leftist in practical beliefs?
Newt is not Romney. Between Romneycare, his liberal track record, and his sleazy campaign, Romney has alienated many conservatives.
