The Haditha incident is finally over for our family. It has been a grueling 6+ years for all of us and time for us to start over.
The decision our son made at his court martial was the right one for him and his three girls. A decision that made all of us proud. Proud of his courage, proud of his outstanding ability to take responsibility for the actions of his squad, proud of the life he has made for his girls.
Although some of you may disagree with his decision, it was the best one for him and his family and we stand by him unconditionally.
To those who have stood behind our son for the past 6+ years, there are no words to express our gratitude. You have shown your love and support by your words and actions. For that we will always be indebted to you. We could not have made it without you.
As we begin to try to heal our wounds, we hope you will keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

You have been and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. I am all Army but for you...
Semper Fi!
The liberal asshats and political jerk-offs can say whatever they want about your son, but the rest of us KNOW that he served honorably and faithfully. No shame. No shame. No remorse. He was, is and will always be a true hero.
USMC! Hell yeah!
God bless you, your son and his family. This nation owes him a debt of gratitude that cannot ever be repaid. His service to this nation is priceless.
Semper Fi.

To quote Allen West, “war is hell” and any of us who have not been there cannot second guess decisions made is the blink of an eye. Freepers know this. Blessings to your family.
May God continue to bless you and your family.

For what it's worth, I have probably read every post pertaining to the Haditha ambush, including the trial, and I haven't seen anybody second-guess Frank's decision. That would be ludicrous. Some freepers (including me) were disappointed Frank didn't get the full exoneration he deserved, but in the end, he HAS been exonerated of all the serious charges the cowardly Pentagon maliciously leveled at him, and most importantly, he's a free man who can take care of his children and get on with his life. I have absolutely no doubt he will be successful in whatever he does.
Again, congratulations to you and your family on the end of your ordeal.
And thanks for your kind post.

Thanks for the ping, LH.
Never doubted the decisions made by SSgt Wuterich.
The Haditha Marines and their families will always be in our prayers, Semper Fi Mom.
I have no doubt Frank made the best decision for his circumstance. This should never have happened but now it is finally over and Frank and your family can move to the next phase of your lives.
Being the mom of a soldier with two tours in Iraq, one of which was the 2008 Battle for Sadr, your family’s situation was all too real to me. I can only imagine your relief that this is finally over.
Salute to your son.
Thank you and your son for your strength and courage.
Please remember that many folks consider him a patriot and share, in some small measure, your pride in him.
Best regards from our family to yours.
G0d bless you all!
God Bless you, your son and all of the family.
Most Americans may soon forget about Haditha (if they haven't already), but we will never forget this injustice and you will always be in our thoughts.
Hi Mom,
Our prayers have been with the Haditha Marines from the outset. From the outset something smelled to high heaven.
In my view, SSgt Wuterich is persecuted for a “thought crime”, a “word crime”. There is nothing about “shoot first, questions later” that is not a complete summary of the ROE that day when one combines the specific rules of “reasonable PID” and “protect self and unit”.
It is so flimsy that it cries for a presidential pardon. Perhaps our next president will have the courage to smack those who did this and exonerate Frank.
Our prayers remain with you all.
We can hope that the many prayers lifted up over time shall be answered in full, and blessings yet unseen or expected shall come to past for the whole Wuterich family.
Marines are always in my prayers.
Ooooorah.
