Greta On The Record

Dear Greta,

I remember you from your CNN days. I am also aware that your husband Mr. Coale is a dedicated Demcrat liberal and you have been a loyal wife in co-hosting Democratic fund raisers with him. I do admire your ethics in not having posed as a conservative in your Fox News show. In fact I actually have scrutinized your interviews and would be hard-put to point out any unfairness on your part.

Having said the above; I feel certain that your email basket is loaded on a daily basis and it is nearly impossible to even browse the subject lines…even if there is no carefully, expertly disguised liberal bias on your part.

If you do see this email and actually read it, please feel free to edit out these four paragraphs.

I am one of what I am sure are millions of Americans who began in the 99%, rose to the 1% and now at retirement age I am back at or near the 1%. No excuses, no regrets and more importantly no resentment toward the current and future 1%ers.

So the big question never addressed in the media, at least in my observation is: what is the big deal with the tax “rate” charade posed by the Democrats and never questioned by the Media (or by the Republicans for that matter)?

Warren Buffet, very notably a financial expert, began this ruse about the inequity of his having a lower tax "rate" than his secretary. President Obama immediately adopted it as his mantra and the rest of the Democratic sheeple have followed it loyally thus far.

Without further ado, to the point: if I were in Mitt Romney’s financial position and I felt disposed to answer a question about my tax “rate” I would answer. “why I am currently paying Federal Income taxes at a rate of $3,000,000 per year”, at what rate do you pay? Newt last year paid at a “rate” of $953,000 per year and President Obama paid at a rate of $534,000 per year… Are any of those three getting any more from the Federal government than those in the 99%, or are they getting less?

When I pay my cable bill so that I can watch your show, I’m sure that it is roughly the same as you, Barrack, Newt and Mitt pay…but probably a much larger % of my income than any of yours. Where is the fairness there? Same goes as regards a movie ticket, a gallon of gas, a loaf of bread, a head of lettuce and so on and so on… shouldn't I pay much less for those things than you four do? Wouldn't be only fair? Please Greta, please I need to know.

Again, feel free to edit anything but the numbers, unless they are dispositively erroneous.

Regards,

I remember when Greta first went to FOX...I looked it up and she had donated several hundred dollars to the dems.

She is getting worse as time rolls on...her questions are taking on a more of the "gotcha" theme and she interrupts her guests almost as much as O'Reilly does.

I used to make it a point to see her show, but now I can take or leave it as she drifts leftward.

I don't watch her often, but Greta lives up to the "fair and balanced" more than any other FNC host. Your 'rate' question is appropriate. What really galls me about the tax discussion is the notion that "the rich should pay their "fair share". It's incredibly misleading, yet very few even challenge it, and thus the perception that the tax laws favor the rich has become reality:

There are some discrepancies in your post.

Greta's husband was on McCain's team last election, she disclosed it on air at the time. Greta and Palin have also become friends and Greta she is leaning more conservative these days.

Her interview with Newt on his bus the other night was excellent.

I like Gretta very much. You have to listen to her interviews. She is steering conservative.

At first I really disliked Gretta, but I have really come to respect her. I think she gives excellent interviews. However, I have not seen her in quite a while, as I have long given up TV news entirely, so I can’t speak to current, but as of a few years ago, my respect for her was only growing.

She often reaches the bottom of the barrel to be getting Donald “Duck Trump on her show. Just as well bring in the guy at the street corner for political advice.

I think Greta has done the best coverage in this primary campaign in TV news that I’ve seen. Hannity suffers because he doesn’t want to criticize any candidates. O’Reilly’s been a bit inconsistent, and dismisses candidates when they aren’t leading in current polls.

I like that she’s learned from O’Reilly when she needs to interrupt guests. That’s O’Reilly’s strong suit. He doesn’t let the guests spin, dodge or get long-winded and boring.

Her only 2 political donations were to Dems, but one of them appeared to be a relative.

As far as my discrepancies are concerned, my reading of your post leaves me the impression that I am wrong about Mr. Coale and Greata's participation in his political leanings... if so I can only cite Mr. Coales blog at http://john-coale.blogspot.com/

I did see a substantial part of her bus ride with Newt and she did give him time to answer and expound... To that I would say, any interviewer would look good interviewing Newt because his answers make it seem as though the interviewer has asked deeply insightful questions.

I agree. And Greta is very, very active on her blog, making me feel a sense of connection to her. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, so I will leave it at that.
