Heard today that McCain called for cessation of debates....that we have heard enough.....nothing more to learn from the candidates. In otherwords, Romney is on top and the rest of us can pound sand. I have never seen this side of the republican party.....and especially from the man who lost to obama, and to the other candidate who lost to him. Why would we expect romney, who lost to McCain, to do even as well as McCain himself. Yet here we are...moving left...alway leftward.....never recalibrated to the right. Why a crying shame.

I wish I knew how he succeeded in 1980.
Reagan lost to Ford, who then lost to Carter, in 1976. Reagan then crushed Carter in 1980. Romney's no Reagan, but the historical example stands.

Not since 1964 has this side of the party been on such public display, but you may not be old enough to have witnessed that. Still, all of it has been simmering under the surface for the last 48 years.
