Considering that Gingrich tried to convince us that the individual mandate was a conservative principle I’m not sure there’s much difference between him and Obama either.

The way things Newt has said in appearances have often been cut and altered, I now like to check video/audios of him to hear it for myself. Please send me the link to Newt saying the “individual mandate was a conservative principle”. I never heard him say that. Thanks so much!

You kind of have to sift through them, but there’s “Newt in 2008 on the Individual Mandate”, “Newt in 2005 supporting individual mandate”, etc. He’s basically saying you must buy some type of health insurance or post a bond to cover your health care costs. On the surface he makes it sound like he’s for a freedom of choice, but he’s saying you must choose one of the two, which isn’t really freedom of choice.

The video of his phone interview with Glenn Beck is interesting also.
