Folks, we need to be on our knees, NOW, praying for Newt Gingrich and for our country. I don't want this to be political.....Newt was not my first choice, but after seeing what the press did to Sarah, then Mr. Cain, and what they're now trying to do to Newt, with of course the BLESSING of Romney....well, we need to stop this NOW. We can ALL agree that NONE of us wants O'Bama back in office, that is a given.
I have children...lots of YOU have children. I have grandkids, lots of YOU have grandkids. I do NOT want them to grow up in a country that is no longer free.

Folks, we Christians have been remiss in not praying for America. We've been commanded by Jesus Himself to pray for our leaders. This country will fall, or not...depending upon OUR prayers.
This is going to be a daily thread, I need you all to contribute to it. IN PRAYER!!!
Heavenly Father, we come before You as one, asking your forgiveness for our failure to pray. For our failure to stand up for what is right and what is wrong. I ask for your forgiveness. Lord, please bless this country. Help us to all have Your strength to stand up against evil, to speak out for those who are in need of Your salvation. Lord, please give Newt the words he needs, at the time he needs, to fight the onslaught of evil being thrown at him. Please give him YOUR strength. Lord, hear our prayer....In Your Holy Name, Amen!
Dear Lord Jesus,
We pray you would give Newt the strength and courage to continue his battle for this Country. We pray you give him the words to say and comfort him in his decisions. We pray for your touch for the people making their decisions today and tomorrow as they vote. We pray your healing on this country.

Mid-day vespers
Bumping all the prayers to the Man at the top.
This is the Psalm I go to when I need the comfort of knowing the Lord is my Keeper and that he is watching over me and America. We have had some bad news today in our local politics ... a very sordid affair resulting in a suicide. This situation has many common denominators with the vicious goings on in the FL primary & nationally. How sick our country is, how bold is the devil and how he must be laughing when he sees people stooping to such depths and joining him in wickedness. And so, today, I need the reassurance in this Psalm .... and many in the country probably do as well.
Psalm 121
1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
It’s one of my favorites and has special meaning. I live in the hills of Southern Indiana....Have a beautiful view of the hills around me.
Went through some very difficult times a few years back and claimed it then.

I do not wish to be 'dramatic', but I believe sir, we are back to this .... last two paragraphs of Patrick Henry's speech .... if you read it, you will see that it applies today. I don't want to believe it, but the proof is staring us in the face. The latest assault was the Obama administration trying to come between people and their God. We CANNOT allow this to happen ... we CANNOT continue to let our freedoms be taken away while like sheep with the wolves circling, we huddle in the field and do nothing. So, I believe we need to follow the wisdom of our Founding Fathers, yet again:
They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? We beg of you humbly to forgive the many sins of our nation. We know that we have ignored You in so many of our decisions and now we are facing the potential loss of all those freedoms You have granted us here in America. We now claim the promise that the “prayers of those who strive toward righteousness will be effectual”. We ask for your divine intervention in the affairs of our beloved country. We pray that You will hold back the forces of evil that would impede Your divine care for America. Protect those candidates who love You and give wisdom to those who vote tomorrow in Florida. With tears, we ask that Your marvelous grace will once more shine upon our country. In the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ, we ask these things. Amen.
And pray for Mitt and Ron as well.
And yes, pray for Barack Obama. Don’t forget to pray for those with whom we disagree. Pray that God grant us wisdom.
I agree. I am Praying in Alabama also...
Bray, I have read many of your prayers over the years and they often fit the words I would have used. I find that you have done made such a prayer on this occasion.
So I join in your prayer.
