Unbeknownst to the press, President Obama met this evening with former president George H.W. Bush and his son, former Florida governor Jeb Bush in the Oval Office.
White House officials did not list the meeting on the president's schedule but released a photo through Flickr and Twitter.
According to the date and time stamp on the photo, it was taken shortly after 5 p.m. That's about the time Obama returned to the White House from a fundraiser at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
White House officials did not immediately respond to questions about the subject of the meeting and its exclusion from Obama's public schedule.

Today - Hillary announced she was stepping down as SOS - and we have heard rumors about Biden moving to that post.
I think Jeb is bit too entrenched in the GOP to go as a VP for a Dem president.
But, it does beg the question - since Hillary is saying she’s out - Does this open the door to a some other character emerging as the Dem VP...?
That should scare Floridians, at least.
Thank you. I don’t know what FR has become and I mean that seriously about some of the people here. Yes I love the irreverence and that people can say what they want.
But regarding Bush Sr., first off he’s an incredibly decent man, second he is a bona fide war hero who the NYT once tried to accuse of war crimes for strafing the Japanese in ww2! He lost to Clinton, who I thought FR hates. He absolutely presided over the reunification of Germany and freedom for Eastern Europe when everyone was saying we’d have to agree to keep Germany divided, etc. He led one hell of a campaign to free Kuwait, also against liberal opposition.
I could say more, but putting aside the disgusting insults and ignorance about this aged, ailing former republican president ....
The absurdity of thinking his reception at the White House has something to do with assisting Mitt Romney in Florida, as well as the ridiculous hatred because Mr. Bush even went to the white House and met the current president (who I believe previously awarded him a Medal of Freedom)...
at this point some Freepers have descended into childishness. Not everything that happens in the world revolves around Mitt, Newt, or the cause of the day on FR.
And this was the vast majority of posts. I had to worry about insulting Freepers who were calling former President Bush a traitor, murderer, wishing him to hell, calling him evil.
I remember a few years ago Sean Hannity got pissed at people on FR calling him dumb (which basically he is) so he started referring to FR as a bunch of extremists and nuts.
At the time when he said that I knew Sean H was being petty and I felt it was outrageous to place labels like that on the great people here.
But when I see many posts crazily calling old President Bush the most vile things, simply because he met with the current president, I see these Freepers as an embarrassment.
He’s already got a de facto VP - Valerie Jarrett.

From all reports Barry is having zero luck getting Ray LaHood’s kid out of Eqypt. He may be asking for help and/or advice about getting some movement on that. I dont’ think they were there to take tea.
Something's up all right. While everyone's first instinct is to think primary since Jeb Bush is from Florida, and Florida's about to vote, there's no reason for daddy Bush, who is not from Florida to be there.
But the world does not revolve around Florida.
It may very well have to do with Egypt where the military - which is not neccessarily of the same stripe as the Islamist protesters who have grabbed so many parliament seats and who don't have much love for the Egyptian military. Maybe the military is detaining those Americans, who are supposedly affiliated with an NGO, because they suspect they are something more, and have caught the attention of the old CIA man poppa Bush. Perhaps the Egyptian military suspects their detainees are US troublmakers, and are holding them with a demand to talk to a US president who was not known to be joined at the hip with the islamists in power. Or maybe the islamists want to talk and refuse to do it through a female Sec of State- a Sec of State who's announced this week that one term is enough.
And it could be something to do with Iran, given the story that just happened to pop up some hours ago that claimed we need a bigger weapon to hit Iranian targets, which sounded to me like were are trying to persuade Iran to let their guard down.
Of course, it could also be that on Bush Sr.'s bucket list, well below "skydiving," there is the entry "Take son to see America's biggest mistake."
I'd be interested in knowing who else has visited the WH in recent weeks.

The headquarters for the carlyle group has moved to Abu Dhabi. So has the central headquarters for haliburton. Dubai has taken over maintenence at our smaller airports...like Mena. bain and carlyle are partners and both have introduced shariah financing along with goldman, also involved wih bain. Our space technology has been given to Dubai which has a MAJOR space program you have never heard of. GWB tried to turn our major shipping ports over to Dubai. clinton represents the emirates.
The bushes have controlled the major entry points for drugs into the US...Texas and Florida for years, as bush sr and clinton did in Arkansas. bush sr was head of the cia, also ambassador to China from whom clinton received major funding to pass our space technology to the prcc.

I’ll probably get flamed from several directions, but from what I read on this thread, it reminds me of a pack of feral dogs running free under the cover of darkness. WTH is going on?? With this type of conservative “support”, Gore and Kerry would have handily won the prior two CY2000s presidential elections with disastrous results!! This thread does NOT represent the usual FR I’ve been associated with in the past...

Bush Sr. hated Reagan’s ideas and sought to undo everything Reagan accomplished. His no taxes lie was the most obvious. The Bush arm of the GOP is RINO central and always has been. Just because the Bush men are decent in the realm of their personal interaction with their families does not translate to their behavior toward the well being of the USA. They have completely abandoned faith to our laws and constitution in their support of their “new world order.
