While Rick Santorum is in Florida seeking to revive his presidential campaign, a man in Wyoming might hold the key to extending his candidacy, and the entire fight for the Republican nomination.
Foster Friess is the largest financial backer of the political entity running an independent campaign to boost Mr. Santorum in the GOP race. Mr. Friess said this week he isn't likely to help Mr. Santorum ahead of Tuesday's Florida primary, because it's "not realistic" that the former Pennsylvania senator can prevail in the winner-take-all contest.
But Mr. Friess, 71 years old, said he plans to fund television advertisements for Mr. Santorum in other states in February and March. That could help keep Mr. Santorum competitive against his better-funded rivals and is one reason the fight for the Republican nomination will likely run at least through Super Tuesday on March 6.

For those interested ping!
Pleased! He is a wonderful alternative to mitt and newt. I would love to be able to vote for him. I’m donating too. Every little bit helps.
We’ll be hitting some of the more Santorum friendly states next month.
Yes, sir.
Yes, I am interested.
Mr. Friess is on to something good.
Always wondered who was backing Santorum. Never found much to disagree with when it comes to Wyoming ranchers - good folks.
Men can make their plans (and God laughs) but God appoints our leaders.
Good on Foster.
Yes, sir.
I kicked in a few bucks today too. I guess I should buy a St Jude for my dashboard even though I’m not Catholic.

Friess made his money on Wall Street and retired to Wyoming. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
*Facepalm*
We just never, ever learn on the Conservative side of the party, do we?
He’s down but Santorum’s not out yet. At least that’s what Foster Friess thinks.
Yes. Buy the St. Jude for your dashboard.
Ron Paul chose early on not to compete in Fl because it’s so expensive and winner take all. He’s put his resources elsewhere, which is what Santorum should have chosen to do a week ago.
Santorum might have thought until SC that FL would be viable for him, but SC changed everything, just everything. It suddenly became a 2 man race, for all intents and purposes, excluding Santorum. Worse, it brought out the very long knives of the GOP establishment in a way that will make any ‘coming together’ after the nomination is settled, almost impossible.
Santorum’s best shot now is that Romney and Gingrich annihilate each other, and it certainly looks like that’s exactly what they are doing.
Foster Friess is a wise man with good conservative instincts. I wonder if he’s related to Mark Levin. :)

In case anyone wants to join us:
You could be right. That's why Foster Friess pulled the plug in Florida. He saw it wasn't going to happen there. Plus, it's only 50 electoral votes, half of its normal total. There's plenty of time to catch up. Levin reminded us all that Reagan almost did just that in 1976.
And there's an even better chance for it now with proportional delegates being assigned after Florida. I think we can all agree that we don't want another 2008. That was a disaster.
Worse, it brought out the very long knives of the GOP establishment in a way that will make any coming together after the nomination is settled, almost impossible.
Yes, sir, it does make it almost impossible. If this thing does go to the convention floor - which is unlikely - there will be political blood in the water.
The longer this goes the better it is for Santorum. No doubt about it. I think that's what Foster Friess is banking on. And in recent statements on video, you've heard Santorum say, "Slow and steady wins the race." He's using that strategy now, and of course, it doesn't hurt to have a big financial backer in your corner either. LOL!
